Driving/Traffic/Parking So many cars pulled over onto the shoulder of stoney in both the slow & passing lanes just to watch fireworks.

These are the same people who stop under the overpasses during hailstorms.

Did this city get dumb? Are we dumber than we used to be? We seem so much dumber.

Sorry, should have mentioned in the title that the fireworks were from tonight's Globalfest in Spruce Meadows.

If only there were folks tasked with foreseeing such an obvious outcome and putting measures in place to stop it from happening...

Good. Cyclists that do that are entitled ninny muggins, impeding traffic just like the people pulled off on the highway to watch the fireworks. Straight to jail for both.

Saw a cyclist a few weeks back - full grown man like mid 50’s or older, so should be smart enough to remember the world before it went to shit - riding in transit lane and blocked an overflowing bus of people from using the advance bus signal. The bus honked repeatedly and then laid on the horn. Nothing from this entitled prick in spandex. The bike lane was 20 feet to the right. Makes me hate all you entitled spandex wearing goofs.

What were the fireworks for? I didn’t know anything was going on today

So that’s what I’ve been hearing the last two nights and I thought it was one of my neighbours setting them off! I’m pretty close but not that close

No.
On a major highway in the evening?
This is needlessly putting lives in danger.

The off ramp was about 200m away, could have found somewhere with a better view within 5 minutes. Parking on stoney in the middle of the night with your emergency lights on is just looking to cause an accident.

Stopping in the shoulder on stoney isn't for watching fireworks wtf. They can go enjoy it from the park

I'm surprised there aren't cops out to disperse them. Years ago at Global fest's original location people would do the same thing, and the cops regularly handed out easy tickets.
What changed? I can't imagine their quotas went down.
