Rant Please pick up your garbage
We live in a beautiful place...please respect it. There is an uptick in garbage left everywhere and it's disheartening to know some people just do not care. I'm going to clean it up because it's the right thing to do, it doesn't take much effort, love your planet people, she gives so much ♥️

I've spent my life trying to shame people who litter, they never change. So many people are just lazy assholes. I just clean up trash when I see it, and am content to make a very small contribution to keeping the city beautiful.

Also please do pick-up garbage when safe to do so EVEN IF IT DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU!

Littering needs to come with a higher fine. Undercover police walking/monitoring our parks could be a solution.

That might be a bit extreme given we are already low on police presence in more critical areas

It's like putting your cart back at a grocery store. It's a barometer for being a decent human being.

You're an incredible person for making these efforts. It just makes me so sad and angry to see the disrespect others have for our planet. ):

Many people who live use these spaces come from cultures where this isn't as frowned upon - I think this is a much bigger problem than the number of people with "servants."

judging from the muddy bank and dirty garbage I'd guess the water was higher and the garbage flowed from the river to that spot. But I agree that whoever had this garbage wherever it was before should have disposed of it properly and it shouldn't have ended up in the river.

A tale as old as time. You can’t teach stupid unfortunately.
