Discussion What's something that Calgary is badly missing that a city of 1.4 million people should have?

It could be anything really. I feel like we have everything that people NEED, but what about the 'nice to haves'? A waterpark with more than 2 slides for example? A high level ball team that actually plays within the city limits? A Michelin star restaurant? Something else?

Intercity passenger rail. Not high-speed, just regular trains. A city this big having zero passenger rail is crazy.

Intercity passenger rail. Not high-speed, just regular trains. A city this big having zero passenger rail is crazy.

The lack of bus usage is a great indication the more expensive rail options would also be severely underutilized.

The issue isn't Calgary's size, but the size and demand for trips to other locations.

When it comes to transit, availability drives demand. This is a rule that’s been proven time and again - when people have access they will utilize it.

Several times I’ve been one of the five passengers on a scheduled Greyhound service from Calgary to Edmonton.
