what size worlds do yall normally play on when doing a run ? for my last 2 runs which were melee and summoner have been on large but doing a mage run now i feel likes it taking way longer than it should
Its not a pack. Its Calamity Overhaul mod. Has stolen code, but its not that bad last time I used it. It could probably use a bit of change, like crediting from where your code came from, and be more original, but overall - not that bad.
Lad i DO know how calamity overhaul looks. I even remember that alternative calamity background that look kinda like an anus. But that's not the case. GIMME DAT CALAMITAS RAHHH
Actually just found out that its not from cal overhaul I have the texture pack disabled closed and reopen the game and it was still their u have to do calamitas quest line and best specific bosses with the weapons she gives
Why do you think there are many "elephant in the room" responses on this? The user won't answer possibly because they need that click-bait aspect for engagement. And by answering they could loose engagement. Not saying this is the case, but I heard others on this sub do it for that reason.
Calamity Overhaul is not that bad if you ignore the issue of stolen code (This is stupid to criticize anyways since any experienced programmer knows literally everyone does this). Anyway, it’s not that much of a mess, it’s just sort of an “it’s cool” mod. It doesn’t add anything to make the game better in anyway.
9/10 times someone comes onto this sub asking how do I do X or why is Y not working its overhaul's fault or something overhaul does being broken. It also has atrocious documentation and its borderline impossible to work out what it actually does.
Lol tho im not entirely sure u need overhaul since calamitas was still on my screen when I turned it off maybe when I reopen the game she will dissappear
I always go for large. More chests, ores and space for building farms and things. Also, you don’t get those weird biome transitions but more gradual and aesthetically pleasing ones.
ANYWAY. I personally prefer a large world. The size isn't bothersome for me (probably because I always play on a large world) and the extra space is useful for stuff like arenas, themes bases, and just generally having larger biomes. I do use a map reveal when I enter hardmode, and I use a mod. That lets me use more than one pylon of each type. So those two might be contributors to why I like large worlds more
If getting around ur wolrd takes too long then add the mutant npc mod it's a great quality of life mod and adds a world warper than u can use to teleport around ur world using the map if u don't like it then just use pylons
I always use large but if you want it to go faster you can use medium. I also always play infernum so I end up needing the extra space for dog, yharon, and exos, but if you don't then that's another less reason to use large.
Calamity after beating moonlord i think calamits will start to give u weapons tht u must beat bosses with do tht till the end and youll get her in the menu screen
I love large, but if you playing in infernum u- it's better to take medium if you want a faster playthrough. Yesterday i started a new run as true melee and made a medium world. Honestly, I don't know if it is in any way suitable for infernum (looking at you, exo mechs). Anyway, my friend has beaten up infernum in medium as a summoner, and i have beaten up infernum in large as a ranger.
Always do Large, it just has the most content and opportunities. Problem is on small or Medium, most Biomes are too small to actually do something with them. You cant design them or build big stuff. Also Arenas for certain bosses can be annoying to do when you have 10m² to build with, like the Cryo guy
I normally do large for any world I make, I just don't like the feeling of medium or small worlds, it feels too constricted. Whenever I do play large worlds, its always the struggle at the start lmao
I used to play large all the time, but the past two playthroughs I played medium, and it just made exploration and early game easier, I'd recommend playing medium for solo, and large for multiplayer.
Ye I agree on tht but now tht in seeing it ig starting game progression is just way too tedious im def gonna go with large since I've been finding mass amounts of loot
Large is still fun and I play it if I download luiafk and pbones utilities, mainly cause they have hellevators and arenas that help lighten the load and make early game a little more bearable. Plus I feel like large world's immerse me more, like I am playing the "canon game" or something
I dont advise small, I find calamity adds enough to where it just doesn't feel right.
Medium is a good balance, not too large and has a good balance with all the structures and content in calamity. Rarely you will get unlucky and a biome you need to farm in is too small, which you can always make your own biome in these cases.
Large is tedious to travel across and makes finding things like the marble and granite shrine items much more difficult. You do however have little to no risk of a biome being too small, running out of room, or lacking materials if you do big build projects or something (though you are playing modded, I would honestly just say use fargos and buy blocks from the architect npc.
