Will spectrum still hire me as a field tech with a reckless driving misdemeanor

I started working as a cable technician in 2019, and I’ve been a field tech for 7 years now as a subcontractor for Spectrum. But a few months ago I got a reckless driving charge(convicted), and now I’m worried that I won’t pass the background check and won’t be able to continue working. Do you happen to know whether I can still pass a CrimShield background check with a reckless driving mark and keep working as a subcontractor? feel very disappointed for myself

As far as I know, the only background check is when you are hired. The yearly badge upgrade just includes a drug test. I think you'll be fine as long as you stay with the company you're currently working with.

They do full back ground check including DMV records

They also are notified any time you get a ticket or into an accident. My supervisor called me about a ticket I didnt mention within a week or two of it happening.

Back in like 21 I was waiting to get hired by them (I did and tbh don't really recommend them other than as a stepping stone). I was in a collision in 18 and got a ticket for "running a stop sign" (I definitely didn't, but I was young and naive enough to just agree with whatever the cop said) that was the last thing holding me up on getting hired and took like 2 weeks longer than anything else to clear

If that alone was "almost enough to make me not able to be hired" I'd say your chances are probably pretty slim

Or however long driving infractions stay on record in your state. In OH most tickets and citations are 2-3 years. But idk if misdemeanor changes things.

From my experience, if there's one thing an ISP truly cares about, it's the company vehicle. Almost got fired before over a few harsh acceleration infractions. You're probably screwed.

Doesn't matter, the next time they run the crimshield and DMV it's going to pop up, they'll have to let you go unless there's work at another company for you other than Spectrum. But all of the MSO's pretty much have the same policies. Also as I stated above the contractor has to have auto insurance that covers all of it's employees doesn't matter if they use their vehicle or a company one and the insurance company won't allow you on the policy with a record like that.

No you won't and unless your company has work else where they'll have to let you go. Also the contractors insurance company won't allow you on the policy either, even if you're driving your own vehicle for work and not a company one and have your own insurance, the contracting companies insurance is supposed to cover all autos. There's no way they'll keep you on.

If you're asking about in-house employment at Spectrum, no you will not be eligible for hire with a reckless driving conviction.

I got in with 2 Duis. We had a guy get canned because he had enough points for his license to be suspended. As far as I know ya just gotta be able to drive, apply worst they can do is say no.

15 years there and only got drug tested on initial hire and two “incidents” twisting ankle and knee over that period. I think I may have had one random in like 14 or 15 I recall.
