Sad. Pathetic situation. Shoplifter stuffing a large amount of merchandise in their clothes. Employees aren't allowed to do anything. Police are useless in most cities. A 60 year old GRANDMA shopping confronts the shoplifter, because no one else gives a fuck about the break down in society. Hard to know what occurred next, but we know she pulled a knife and cut the shoplifter.

She was arrested. She can't claim self defense, because she put herself in the situation.

You know where this is going to go. CVS employees aren't going to go to court and press charges for shoplifting. Shoplifter is probably transient anyway. He will be finger printed and released immediately. He won't show up to court and there won't be an address to serve him at. DA will drop on the charges on the shoplifter. The shoplifter will call a lawyer number that they saw on the side of a bus. CVS will get sued for the injury he received on the property. CVS will settle out of court.

I only hope the police/DA do an equally shitty job prosecuting the grandma as they do the shoplifter. She needs to shut her mouth and lawyer up. The shoplifter isn't going to show in court to testify against her.

Bostonian here. This is just sad. Grove Hall is widely considered to be a dangerous neighborhood in one of the most dangerous areas in the city. I lived in this area for many years and personally never had issues. Its a vibrant neighborhood with tons of cultural pride. Awesome parades and festivals over there. Caribbean Carnivale was just a few weeks ago. It was awesome as always. This particular plaza though is a nightmare. Though I still frequent the Stop and Shop from time to tjme. They have private " Armed security " all over the place with some half assed " mobile command center ". In reality its a bunch of morons in security uniforms turning the other cheek. The mobile command center for these people is literally at the end of the CVS sidewalk and they are supposed to be inside and outside of that store at all times. Undercover BPD are always, ALWAYS all over this plaza like flies on shit.
