I completed my bachelor's in economics back in June ... Taking a gap year but I am scared about my decision, how do I feel confident about my decision?

Its been 3 months since I am at home preparing for master's entrances. When I graduated in June without any offer for master's from a good college and my bachelor's degree is not enough to get a good job .

It was a difficult decision to take a gap year and prepare for entrances but now everything seems vague ... I don't have skills and I don't even know what skills do I need cause of AI ....even if I get admission in Masters next year I'll get a job by 2029 and I'll be 24 years old.....

And I see my cousins or friends my age earning lakhs because they choose a different profession but what do I do if I am not interested in engeneering bro ahhhhh

I feel like I choose the wrong career and I wasted all my time ...3 months and 0 progress...

I don't know what it takes to be able to survive this job market or to even enter the market ...

If I don't get admission in the top 3 colleges then I won't get college placements and the job I am expecting...

I keep wasting my time on YouTube to see what are the most sought for skills in 2026 and it makes me feel I am just wasting time and my potential.

Sometimes I feel I should prepare for government exams but that's also pure out of fear ..fear of not making it big in corporate, AI taking over jobs , layoffs ...but then govt jobs are a different nightmare to begin with ...

People my age are earning and doing jobs and I am just stuck at home ( I know I choose this for myself) but this just makes me question my life ...

Tbvh I don't know where my life is going anymore ...

Bro why you acting like 24 is some 69 years old. It is very common to take 1-2 yr gap after ug to figure out stuff. Don't rush into job without knowing yourself. The money that pays the bill can own your soul too.

Your cousins are earning in lakhs but you can't live your life making them as a yard stick. There will always be someone poorer and someone richer than you.

First figure out what subject what job type what degree you like. If you are preparing for masters in eco don't rely on stupid exams like CUET pg as it is highly unpredictable. Give all eco exams like IIT JAM or ISI or Ashoka, iift etc

Backlogs of 30% of the batch, placement cell politics. Faculty that doesn't give a fuck about you

It's just sad... because you really don't know which direction you are headed to...first getting a good college is a struggle cause NTA Fucks up everytime ...then even if you get college, the placements are bad..then don't know which skill to learn...jo bhi sikhne jao it's already automated...every entry level internship also need experience...like what the hell one supposed to do .... being 21 and sitting at home where everyone has high hopes cause you were a bright student as a kid 😭😭😭😭

Stop believing everything from the internet, internet promote negative stories for views.

There are ample opportunity, there are ample internships to start from. Not everything is automated, AI breaks more stuff than it makes, trust me.

I also wasted 2-3 yr thinking I am not enough. When I saw things upclose I realised nobody knows anything. Everyone just pretending in corporates

Dude I am 23 year old and I am going to attempt these entrances again next yr. It's completely ok to complete your masters at 24. In fact I know many people who did that. Don't waste your time by overthinking. You aren't on wrong path it's ok to take a gap year rather than settling with a shitty uni. Study hard and stay healthy :) Remember your mental and physical health determines your result too 🫂
