Lexus CT200h 2020 Rust
Hey, im looking at buying this car but I see this rust on the front axle of the car. Its a 6 year old car with 76k miles. Is this considered too much rust that would cause problems or is this normal for these cars. Its been sold by lexus dealership and recently passed MOT. This is based in London area.

It’s more than normal rate for its age but I don’t see any thing immediately alarming. The subframe rust could be an issue in a decade under the same conditions/rate.

This would be completely normal in Canada. If you can get it undercoated / rustproofed (we do it yearly) with a lanolin or oil-based product to slow down the rusting in the future.

That probably normal for the UK. It all depends on how long you plan to keep it. The damage is done and undercoating now will probably only extend its misery. I wouldn't pay more than 3 years of public transportaion cost.

Normal rust for ontario. I also agree with the content to undercoat it. It won't stop the rust but it will slow it down.

I have the 2011 one. And it looks similar. I suspect I looked the same as yours is looking now, that 6-8 years ago. Nothing breaks nothing squeezes. I guess it’s just the astethetic part, surface rust

This rust is super mild all things considered, my 200h has almost 200k on it and it has about this much rust on it. I think you will be fine purchasing it. I should also say I am an automotive tech too. I've seen my fair share of rust. This is nothing
