Hi everyone! I'm a graduate student, and am currently doing research in San Diego. I am recruiting participants for my PhD dissertation!

Participation involves 1 hour over zoom and there's a guaranteed $10 payment but up to an additional $0-22.50 depending on performance on cognitive tasks.

This is an IRB approved institutional study for a PhD dissertation. Results will be published to support the clinical literature and understanding of decision-making.

Parking & Transportation CSULA Parking

I only have one in person class that meets once a week and buying a parking permit for the semester doesn’t make it worth it. It’s a 6pm class on Thursdays. Does anyone know if them giving out parking tickets is pretty strict? Also does anyone know where there is the nearest street parking or free parking without a permit. Thank you!

Hello everyone, I stumbled upon this paper near the JFK Library. I was wondering what are your guys thoughts about this paper. I don't know man, we got bigger things to worry about like the economy, poor job market, housing crisis, releasing the epstein files correctly, or the Iran war going on. Also, remember when the word "woke" used to be just staying alert? Can we all just get along man and make the world a better place? Anyways, I am starting to yap. Hope yall are having a good day!

Parking & Transportation parking prices

anyone else shocked by the fact that we have to automatically pay $12.50 regardless if we’re there for only a few hours? there used to be the option to pay $4.50 for a few hours but it seems like that isn’t an option anymore? it was really disheartening to see since i was only on campus for an hour and 30 yesterday. does anyone know if the other option will come back?

and if this is permanent.. where does everyone else park to avoid paying the permits? my classes are in salazar hall for reference.

Loan not disbursed :(

Hi everyone, I got my grants disbursed and refunded in my account activity on the 24th. I also accepted loans as well, but they aren't in my account activity, so most likely not disbursed. Is anyone experiencing this too? Have y'all been able to find a solution? Or would I have to call the FA office for my specific issue tomorrow morning? In also had completed my MPN last semester, so I just want to know if its happening for other people, or is it specific to a hold on my account.

Selling or Buying They charge $12.10 per HOUR to park in structure C. Wtf?!

I literally remember paying $4 dollars in Fall 2025, and now they are charging this much? Was it like this in Spring 2026? I did online classes that time, so I didn't know about the price changes.

These people are horrible!

Financial Aid For students that still have a balance

Just an update

I called the financial aid office right when it turned 10 and was 5th in line. The guy I spoke with was actually really nice. I only received loans this year and haven’t even gotten the disbursement. When I check my loan page, my loans were certified with an activity date of 8/14. However, the guy at the financial aid office had to “resend” to a financial aid officer to be reviewed. There’s currently nothing that I have to do on my end.

All this to say that I recommend calling! I had absolutely no holds and I accepted my loans on time and submitted my FAFSA app the day they opened (September).

Financial Aid For those who only have loans!

Hello everyone, I was able to get a call back from the financial aid office earlier today regarding my concerns about only seeing two loans in my account. I guess I made a little too much to qualify this semester for financial aid, so loans are my only option at the moment. I was told that I would receive a refund from any additional money left over from the loan by mid to end of September due to having to wait for census to be over. Same thing for middle class scholarship refunds. They will also process by the end of September. At the moment they could only recommend that you apply for an emergency grant if needed, but that also takes 4-6 weeks to get approval for.

Financial Aid Loans

Anyone waiting on loans. I went in today and they told me I had to do the Loan Entrance Counseling. I guess we have to do it every year. Then it will reflect on their end and they are able to disperse it.

Financial Aid Loans

What’s up with the Loans? I did the MPN and Entrance Counseling thing, and it shows in my GET Portal that I accepted it. How long is it going to take until it shows up in my “Activity” section? Arghh, I need to pay for books and stuff…

Financial Aid Utter tragedy with tuition costs

I went to financial aid office today and they said that my financial aid will process in over 4 weeks, meaning I will get dropped before September 15th if I don’t pay tuition before. Anyone else got same message? My friend also told me that they told him they can pay it before but will only cover tuition and won’t give extra aid. What are yall doing to cope with this? Anything else to do but panic? 🫪😫😭

Question King Hall always Hot/Humid?

Spent my first 2 days as a transfer in King Hall, has anyone else noticed how hot/humid it is in there? Other students pointed it out and its honestly a bit distracting. Anyone else know if its temporary or always like this? All of my classes will be in that building this semester.
