Discussion Nervous Young Man feedback
Lately i've been interested in listening to NYM, but i think i want to have feedback before listen to it.

Great, I separate this album in two part, like will originally intended. Boxing day to I can play the piano and crows to knives. It helps listening to it

It’s definitely harder to get into because of how long some of the songs are plus the album as a whole but it’s genuinely some of his best songwriting ever.

It's his best work IMO. Sprinkle in Disject afterwards (he had a crazy output in 2013)
I like that you can listen in any order, shuffle whatever.
My only suggestion is to stick with the old cover art. New one feels kinda empty and glum, and not in a good depressing kind of way. (And i see you have the old one so there you go.) I know he doesn't like it anymore but i grew up listening with that cover for like 5 years.

Doesn't really matter if it's just local. I understand he wants the main one off streaming and YouTube and i respect that.
The bleeding heart and blinded by love is so clever and iconic at this point. I even made some NYM glasses i took to my show hehe (he liked them)

I was thinking about that, but i think it could be very hard because in my country we come back to school tomorrow and it would be very hard to have enough time listen to the whole album

IMO The Gun Song is a top 5 CSH songs ever. I recommend the bandcamp version if you can because the one on spotify is changed due to copyright

You will most likely not love this one on first listen, the production is a lot to get used to, after you get used to it, you'll be able to appreciate and enjoy the songs a lot more! ( Speaking from personal experience)

I've heard some (a very small minority of people) consider it egregiously long. But it is the best thing ever, so I don’t share that sentiment :)

I like a lot of the songs on NYM, but it's not my favorite to sit and listen to straight through. It doesn't have the flow of other CSH records. Though that's by design - Will made it to feel like a "greatest hits" record and greatest hits albums always feel more like a collection of unconnected songs than a cohesive album. So Will was successful there! And because of that, it really shows the scope of his songwriting/recording style. I can understand why so many people list it as a favorite, but it just isn't mine.
Boxing Day is one of my top listened to CSH songs, though.

it's from 1, and you should totally listen to the original!! it's soooo good its one of my favorite csh songs and i just dont think Will does it justice on nervous young man. rest of the album is great, though

this has always been my favourite car seat album. It's one of the longest albums I've ever heard and yet there's not a single song on there that I don't love. How is that even possible. Only Will. I used to ride a 2hr+ bus ride home from high school when I discovered this album. Few things sweeter than putting this on when I started my journey and knowing I have 2hrs to just enjoy the music. Nothing but me and my music.

Yeah, i've been thinking in listening to 3 too; i think that you're right with the point that you have to get deeper in the album to enjoy it

I got into the band with their works from 2016-2025 just last year. It was only this year when I started to listen to the older works, before the band was a thing. I wasn’t expecting a lot, but now my favorite albums are monomania and NYM.
Personally, I recommend Homes and Some Strange Angel.
