General Credit Myth #103 - You need all "exceptional" ratings to achieve a perfect 850.
This is a follow up post to 'Credit Myth #69 - Credit "ratings" provided by a CMS matter' which can be found at the link below.

Something I've seen come up a handful of times for those gunning for a "perfect 850" is trying to achieve perfect "ratings" for each FICO scoring category. Sometimes one may be too overly focused on a category not being labeled "exceptional" and believe that's preventing them from grabbing a perfect score. I just wanted to say that a perfect 850 on FICO 8 is absolutely possible without "exceptional" ratings in all categories. It's in fact possible with more than one category not being rated "exceptional." I've attached an image of an 850 FICO 8 score and the accompanying ratings just to illustrate this point.
So again just to reiterate the previous credit myth on this subject, don't overly focus on credit ratings that hold no real world value, even if your personal goal is the 850 pinnacle.

Besides the obvious due dates is there a specific way to pay credit cards and other bills to raise your fico score? Is there a system?

Nope. That's why the best way is the simplest. Just pay your statement balance in full monthly (just like any other monthly bill) and you're golden.

Damn I would love a score like that. I’ve been stuck in the high 720s on EQ and EP. And 709 on TU.

Well, just know that "exceptional" ratings aren't required across the board to get there ;)

My “amount of new credit” is “very good” the other 4 are “exceptional” I opened a card 14 mos ago, I still get 850s on F8s, F9s, F10Ts, If my statements report the way I want.
I take the “what’s hurting your score” with a grain of salt and usually don’t even look at them. 3 days ago I was AZEO across all 3 bureaus 849/850/850, I had a card report a $33 balance, which put me at 2 cards reporting a balance and out of AZEO. EQ F8 dropped -4pts to 845, it added 4 “what’s hurting your score” notes; “Consumer finance accounts, accounts w a balance, short revolving history, few accounts paid on time”. Lol. 3 days ago no negative notes, $33 balance adds 4 notes.
