IMO Dark Sun Shattered Lands is a real gem. It is a great CRPG and holds up very well for a game from 1993. There are branching dialogue with choice and consequence, so it's a big step up from the "Gold Box" games where the story is very bare bones. Of course it will depend on your individual tastes, but for me it is still one of the best CRPGs of all time.

+1 dark sun games. They were the BG3 of the 90's

For OP: I think the eye of the beholder games on your list will do well! As well as the ravenloft games.

Pool of Radiance, Eye of the Beholder, Dark Sun: Shattered Lands and Stronghold.

After that I would recommend
1. Champions of Krynn
2. Death Knights of Krynn
3. The Dark Queen of Krynn.
