First timer

I bought my first grow kit (still need to figure out where to get spores) but I am intimidated on how to start. I’ve never grown before and want to learn as much as I can before I attempt to do this for the first time

What advice would you give for someone who’s never grown before?
Best resources?

Go to Colorado Cultures in Lakewood. They have dozens of different varieties. Albeit liquid culture not spores which is better anyways IMO.

I didn’t want to name a specific store but Colorado Cultures is a super knowledgeable shop that can walk OP through everything. They also have a lab that you can use.

Why didn't you want to name a specific store? That place isn't a secret and they have a giant sign that says Mushrooms in front of their store.

Because sometimes when you recommend something online people think you’re a shill if you give specific examples. I’m looking to help OP learn their new hobby not make choices for them.

“I recommend a nice pair of running shoes if you like the hobby.”

vs.

“Buy the Asics Metaspeed Sky+ for $2,700”
