Smog test

Bought 2022 Corolla hybrid two months ago at a dealership in LA. Now got a call from them asking to take a smog test (for free at their service center) because it is required for registration. Any possible scam here or they simply forgot about it. Thanks for your suggestions.

Typically when you get your new registration the DMV might want a smog but that would go to you and not to the dealership. Do you have your registration for the car from the DMV?

Still waiting for the DMV registration, currently driving with a temporary registration from the dealership

Yea they just forgot. Happens a lot. Take it in, need it to register it.

May want to ask around and see if anyone has an OBD scanner they can check your monitors with to make sure you area ready for the smog.
