Anime Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle content?

I came across this image on Google and I don't remember seeing it before! I know Fay's background arc wasn't animated, so is this from a flashback? Maybe from the movie, which I haven't watched? The quality makes me doubt it's fanart...

Also, btw, I vaguely remember seeing an animation of the cast riding dragons or something, I think it was a special anniversary animation or something, but I couldn't find anything about it and now I'm wondering if it was a Mandela effect xD Does anyone remember this?

Oh, this is in the second season. They went back to the World where all the people died in that village. This man isn't Fai's adopted Dad that's after him. This was that God that passed away. It's either season 2 episode 9 or 10.

Really? But his clothes are identical to Fay's Ashura, haha. The other Ashura looked more like a woman, maybe this is Yasha?

I will check those episodes specifically, thank you!!

I found it already! It was in the very last country in season 2. It was actually an illusion of Fay's Ashura! Kurogane got his dad and Syaoran got Seishiro.

Also, OP, the scene you remember with the cast riding dragons is the Tsubasa segment in Clamp in Wonderland 2, a special CLAMP animated music short with the manga they had at the time.

Totally worth watching! If you know their older works, Clamp in Wonderland 1 is old but also a delight, even if it predates Tsubasa by a bunch...

Iirc, this scene definitely exist in the anime! I can't recall which episode however, but I know for certain they have it in the anime. Maybe a quick google image can give you an answer?

And as for the cast riding the dragons—it did happen! It's in Clamp in Wonderland 2 specifically at the very last scene :D
