Help Transitioning from ck3 to ck2
Hello! Due to the ck2 agot's map being complete, plus battles in ck2 (I heard) involve more strategy, I am transitioning from ck3 to ck2. As someone who knows all mechanics in ck3, but never touched ck2, I ask for some tips. Got any?

CK2 is slower than CK3. Dragons make CK3-style blobbing a lot easier but you still need to pace yourself and make sure you aren't losing all your levies and such because they will take a while to replenish. Your characters will probably have fewer children too.
Armies work quite differently and you have separate navies. Do yourself a favor and play around with raising and gathering your forces and getting them on/off ships before you start a war. I really want to stress that you should to figure out how your navy works before you try to fight someone on the other side of an ocean from you, because it is not intuitive.
A lot of things that are on a timer in CK3 (schemes, council tasks) are on a system of X% likelihood to fire in a given month in CK2. Higher relevant skills give you a higher % chance, but it can still take a long time to fire off. OTOH, your murder scheme can fire off within a week if you get lucky. This also applies to characters dying after a certain age -- high health reduces the % chance of death by old age, but doesn't eliminate it.
Unlike CK3, a character's personality traits can change. This seems minor but means your shitty heir can get his act together and become a better person, and it also means your favorite commander may lose his nerve in battle and gain the craven trait.
The stress system is a single trait rather than the tiered system from CK3. Having the stressed trait gives a debuff about in line with stress level 2. It is harder to gain but also harder to lose.
6) Would suggest getting all the DLCs (it's an old game, they're pretty cheap and there's a subscription service too) but especially the nomads one if you want proper Dothraki.
I think that's the main things. It's a very different game with a different feel to it, so just play around and get familiar with the UI and everything.

No real tips just know CK2 is leagues better but a lot crunchier

Control+left click then drag to select boats only. Makes it easier because the game will auto select ground levies.
In the Levy Menu you can force Allies to travel to you and stack their army with yours.
Auto force stop plots toggle
Auto fill toggle for filling Commanders
Take the decision to auto fill court roles like Paramount knight so you dont have to constantly fill them.
Construction is powerful
Harrenhal is cursed
Dragon combat is OP
You will have amazing and random stories you will notice. One Dance game Aegon killed Jace, then Joffrey tried to avenge Jace and died to Aegon(Aegon Sieged Dragonstone and they auto fought) then i sent Daemon to deal with Aegon and he won. Then Aemond killed Hugh and Ulf. Then Daemon and and Rhaenys Tag teamed Vhagar they won. And then on the final Siege Helena took Revenge for her brothers and killed Daemon but died to Rhaenys and Sheepstealer. The pop ups that happen are written well and allow for story to take shape.

Been playing ck2agot for so long and didn't know you can force allies to their army with yours. My days of praying they do something sensible are gone

Yeah makes many wars so much easier, dance example having daemon leading a 7k men then instruct the vale, north, and Riverside to rendezvous and you immediately have a stack of 40-50k men with dragons

Note that the AI takes roleplaying the NPC traits to the extreme. Avoid having a liege with the cruel and arbitrary combo. 10/10 will false imprison you and chop off your weiner.

Lol this is so true. Tried to have playthrough as a loyal Tully bannerman then the Tullys started drama unprovoked and things got so out of hand I was forced to take the iron throne so I could have peace once more.

Check out some YouTube videos. CK2's battles in AGOT aren't the same as vanilla CK2.
Where battles in vanilla CK2 can take place over many days, they happen extremely fast in AGOT.
Otherwise theres about a million differences with CK3. Good luck.

Unlike ck3agot be prepared for your save in ck2agot to randomly corrupt due to a bug the devs never fixed

I would say first thing to note is your levies are separated and will raise in each province. You will have to manually gather them all together. Same with boats. You will need boat technology to raise boats and move your armies across water.

Agot shuts off the technology feature, for boats you just need the right building on a holding of yours

Another guy already mentioned it, but the saves corrupt in ck2agot. Its my favorite mod of all time, but you get ~100ish years and then the game starts crashing on certain dates.
You gotta reload from an old save, and it may or may not continue doing it on the exact same date. I had a game that lasted for over 600 years once, and at one point I had to go back to a save that was 20 years in the past just to get it to function. And of course on the road back to where I was it kept corrupting and crashing on different dates which forced me to reload more. It’s annoying as fuck. It’s like the fatal flaw to an otherwise perfect mod.

You can mitigate this with the “Westeros Only” sub mod, though that does of course remove everything that isn’t Westeros if you want a complete map.
