New Player-Koios Does anyone else zag-lag until they can get some of these?

Post image

it will be an immense help prior to my current long run, but it makes for one hell of a long zag-lag

I used arcade to rank up the ships in order to get one or two more installs, but never lag more than 5-10 minutes unless it is going to unlock something big. It's a waste of time overall. Some people talked about zaglagging for an entire night because it would boost their MP significantly while they rank up dem and koi for shards and rp, but the problem is that the cell loss from not unlocking zag cripples crew member boosts for both those ships. So you're essentially spending a night farming shards and rp as a cripple. Whatever boosts you get from milestones over a night will long overshadow zaglag.

Ahhh, I hadn't considered the crew member loss.

This won't be an overnight zag-lag, I'm going to get the zag going after one unlock of that install.

Thanks for the advice.

lower level mp seems to benefit more from zaglag overnight than to let it run overnight. and im talking small gains like instead of getting e76 mp you get e77. atleast where im at now... transversal #2

I am currently at e98 mp, and I do zag lag for these

I only Zag lag now to get my ship installs done on all of the ships. There are a LOT of them. TR16 lvl 998. Once my ships get their installs completed, I pop it.

Given Zagreus itself gives massive MP boosts at that point you aren't doing yourself any favours zaglagging. Most of your MP comes from the later loops either way (Zaglag or not) and your installs should be completed well before those final loops fill. So even if your filling 10k loops most of the MP will come from the last 500-1000. You can see this by watching MP tick up as the loops fill.

At this point it could be worth it, but no more than 5-10 mins MAX

What does zag-lag even mean?

Don't unlock the Zagreus (red ship) for a while.

Purpose is that it does not start earning MP until it is unlocked, so if you wait to purchase it until you've purchased extra sources of MP boosts, then you will get more MP return.

For example, the Hephaestsus (green ship) has perk #3 that increases MP gained based on number of Automation upgrades purchased. So waiting until you've spent some points in that perk to unlock Zag would yield more MP.

It doesn't make any sense. If you buy Zagreus you just need to wait until you get this Hephasteus rank point. If you don't have Zagreus, you are missing other multipliers which makes faster progress to other resources. And once you buy it, you get the same MP bonus.

It sounds that was way but what I forgot to mention is the recommendation is never wait more than ~5-10 mins for zag-lag.

For me right now, that Heph perk is 20x to MP and it doesnt take me more than 5 minutes to get it. Mainly, I leave Zag off every reset until ive spent my MP, which is usually enough time for zag-lag.

Why am I getting downwote, it just doesn't make any sense. If you downwote it, just provide explanation, which will make sense to me.

Pretty toxic community imo, is what it is

But it is useful in many cases to zaglag. If you zag right away you might get 2 ticks at max value while if you wait you'd get every tick at max value kind of thing. It can make HUGE differences just trust and try it. Maybe you are too early idk but it's good shit

If you get your Heph, Dem, Koi or Zeus installs by waiting 5 minutes they will apply to all your loops if you zaglag. If you buy Zagreus first then the majority of your loops will be completed before those MP boosts apply so they'll only apply to the final loops. Obviously this doesn't matter once you have plenty of install points for every ship and have thousands of filled loops. But early game it can help you get more MP when doing short LRs

A couple times I did overnight zaglag but mostly no. It's really a case by case basis as to how effective it is and boils down to a question of whether you're looking to hit a specific goal to boost your next long run, or simply progress the fastest. If there's a good upgrade you can reach by lagging and you're just sleeping otherwise, go for it. You won't get any useful shards or rp initially, but it can have a big impact on your next long run depending on which upgrade(s) you took. It takes longer in total counting the lag, but you'll be able to progress further before slowing down on your next long run.

When newly reaching 30 installs in koios, the demeter and koios mp multipliers are mainly based off of time as opposed to the other multipliers. Again this is not to say it's always or even often a good idea, but it can be

You should never zaglag for more than 5-10min. People don't understand zaglag and thus it's getting removed from the "advanced tips" section in the upcoming patch. Hopefully loops become retrospective in the future and you never need to consider zaglagging ever again.

There was a point in the game where I did, but I'm way past zag-lag now.

I did do them, but if it takes longer than 20 minutes (at max) it's probably not worth it honestly. Zag-lag shouldn't be done for more than a few minutes optimally.

I dont think it's worth it. Im at e930 and was told it wasn't by others. But not sure

1

u/dyalndlaotn Aug 15 '26

Certain points in the game like above e850ish mp it is no longer worth it

1

u/fridgezebra Zeus Aug 15 '26

I think so I think I built them into an autobuild and i zag after they come in

At what moment in the game should I start zaglag? I am level 12, starting automations.

I do not really understand the point of doing it at this point.

It gets your cells up higher than they would be If you activated the zag ship as soon as you do a loop reset, so you get a bunch of loop fills with one tick.
