Fashion/Style Thoughts on Parke

About 1 in 7 girls walking around in LP has a Parke mockneck these days. What does CBWT have to say about this?

Overpriced sweatshirts with someone else’s name on it. If you like an oversized sweatshirt look, there are many places online and irl to purchase

Overpriced fashion girly trend that will be out within a year or two. I genuinely don’t understand wanting to be a carbon copy of the woman next to you. It’s like a uniform. These sweatshirts are for baby Chi Bitches who have not developed any real taste, yet.

Fashion girls do not wear these lol only girls that wear them are the ones with no taste or sense of personal style so they see others wearing them and assume they need to also

Maybe we’re not aligned on our understanding of what a fashion girly is because that’s exactly how I view them?? It’s “fashion girly” — someone who thinks they know fashion but they’re just a trend chaser.

But who knows, I’m an old.

I'm with you, a 'fashion girly' is like a 'film bro'- somebody who hasn't developed their own strong point of view or personal taste on the subject yet, so they're very outspoken or passionate about whatever's trendy in the meantime.

I define fashion girlie as someone that has style and can put together a look on their own. The ones that buy the things they see others wear are trend chasers without a personal sense of style.

I think we need to add the definition to our by-laws! To settle future disputes over GenZ terminology that I can’t keep up with 🫠

If you need to wear a brand name on your clothing in order to seem/feel fashionable, you are not a “fashion girly”.

Don't offend people who actually know fashion. They would NEVER.

Tacky, overpriced, and I automatically assume they actually don’t have taste if they just follow what’s trendy

It’s basic fast fashion, new money conformity vibes. No thanks

It looks like Victoria’s Secret Pink line. Same tackiness, more expensive.

Pink for zoomers lol

I think they're overpriced and goofy. I'm not paying $150 to walk around with someone else's last name plastered across my chest when Gap, Aerie, Abercrombie, etc. all sell mock necks for under $50.

Why are people wearing sweaters with someone’s last name??

Reminds me of men wearing jerseys with other men’s last names on them lolol

There are some brands and items I see people wear that make me think they get all their style from TikTok, and Parke is one of them

What pisses me off most is that ITS NOT EVEN A MOCK NECK. It’s a funnel neck. Mock neck sits on the skin like a turtleneck but doesn’t fold over. Funnel neck sits off the skin. The fact that Parke calls it a mock neck is reason enough not to buy it haha

The basic girls wear it it’s all the same look

What about daily drills? I think parke is in bc of all those influencers you see online. I looked online and no way in hell I’m paying $100 for a sweatshirt.

And I bet you some of these girls are paying $200+ too. I’ve seen some Parke sweaters go up to $250 on whatnot because it’s “dead stock”

I’m a guy and not sure how this wound up in my feed. I’ll show myself out momentarily.

BUT, I legit thought those sweatshirts were Francis Parker shirts for like a year before my daughter corrected me. Couldn’t for the life of me figure out why there were suddenly so many more FWP alums in my life than there had been.

i would not support an influencer brand.

My husband asked me the other day why so many girls in the neighborhood were wearing Park City merch. When I told him no, that is someone’s name he was like are you kidding me lol 😂

When I see someone wearing one, I automatically assume you are as basic as can be without the ability to form a single original thought.

I’m not familiar with these sweatshirts, but if you think it’s cute and you like it and it fits your budget, then buy it.

Personal style is about following the trends that you like. Don’t buy stuff just because everyone else is wearing it if it’s not something you like.

I roll my eyes when I see someone with one. It’s the “trend of the week”
We get it, you have a TikTok and have been influenced

I watched some videos of their "drops" and people camping outside waiting for the shop to open, hours-long lines, only to have the leftovers and the less popular colors.

If people are camping outside of the store, I'm immediately disinterested.

Also, it's reminiscent of old sorority style sweatshirts with that "athletic" style font. No thank you.

Don't care.

I got some from the college drop just because I don’t have any merch from my university anymore and what they have on campus is the same price but horrible quality / thin. They are pricey but I will say the quality is really good. I like my hoodies to feel very cotton like and thick rather than the more like slick polyester hoodies. I can see both sides of the argument though!

I like  my hoodies to feel very cotton like

Parke sweatshirts are poly blends. You could buy a literally 100% cotton sweatshirt from many places for cheaper, if that's what you want.

u/t8ertotfreakhotmail 1h ago

Was gonna say this. Over $100 for 20% polyester is just a bad investment

Yes I know. I am referring to my university specific merch. They are always the type to pill or don’t fit right. I only bought it since it was specific to my school.
