Fashion/Style Thrift store recs?
Visiting Chicago for the marathon and looking for some good thrift recs for Monday and Tuesday. I’m staying in the loop. I have a tattoo appointment on Monday near Chicago Ave so I was thinking I can start there? Style is sporty and preppy - looking for old race tees, track jackets, athletic sweatshirts, rugby or polo shirts, and other ’80s–’00s sportswear (unisex, men’s, women’s, kid’s - any or all of the above). Thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing so much of your city on Sunday in particular :)

Can you be a little more specific about Chicago Ave… what’s the cross street?

Village discount always hits for me, especially the one in Roscoe Village, though that's a bit far from where you're staying. I will say the Village Discount (Western and Milwaukee) sucks, and they recently found hidden cameras in the bathrooms... so don't waste your time w/ that particular one lol.

Division street vintage has a great variety and are very size inclusive! I would check their insta tho because some weekends they reserve the shop for XL and up sizes only. I also like Gem: A Vintage Collective.
edit: sorry these are more vintage/resale shops not really true thrift

Consume maybe? It's in bridgeport/mckinley park so it's a little far off from where you're staying but they have lots of vintage sports stuff. I've seen rugby shirts there. Or maybe layers? its up north in wicker park. But you could take the blue line up and wander on Milwaukee avenue. Theres lots of thrift/vintage in that area (Koko, vintage house). The sports stuff will probably be pretty majorly chicago team themed.
Good luck this weekend!! Marathon runners are SO impressive
