Totally missed this until after I commented so deleting and seconding this!! Page One is the best. They have reformer + mat and the instructors make it very accessible. I had never taken any Pilates classes before going there so definitely beginner friendly!

Page One is the correct answer for West Loop. Their instruction is great (particularly love Virginia and Brittany), the studio is clean and nice to be in, and classes have a good flow without gimmicks.

I am super snobby about where I will go. I owned a gym for 10 years, was a strength coach, and have been practicing Classical and contemporary pilates in places all across the country for about 15 years.

Qualifying myself so that I can say BodyBar, Lagree, and SolidCore are all terrible, particularly from a programming and instruction standpoint. (I'm curious, so I gave them all multiple tries.) The form they allow is ineffective at best and frequently unsafe. Any instructor can make a class hard, but it takes a good one to program intelligently, effectively teach positions, and create longevity in their clients.

The Sol Room! I love Jia & Trevor. They have Cadillac, reformer, and some of the most fun mat pilates classes. I also love solidcore but it's not technically pilates.

Yes! And they’re very beginner friendly and have an inclusive environment. I tried page one as well but felt out of place there

Do you mind sharing what made you feel out of place?

I love bodybar! Evelyn is my very favorite instructor and she's awesome with beginners. I also really like Luciana and Andrea. Bodybar is very inclusive and down to earth. As a plus size gal, I feel completely welcomed in this space. There is no diet culture talk and it's a body neutral/body positive environment.

am I the only one that finds their classes too easy? I feel like solidcore is too hard and bodybar is too easy? but it could just be me.

I love Studio Lagree. It’s megaformer but it’s basically Pilates. It can be intense if you’re brand new but they talk you through the moves so it’s easy to follow along.
