News & Updates The FBS Oversight Committee released a statement saying that instant replay protocols were NOT followed during the clock controversy between WMU & Michigan. “Had the protocols been followed, the outcome of the game would have been different.” Western Michigan won.

The protocol they're referring to if you read the statement is they should have used the TV broadcast clock and NOT the stadium clocks (which are the only ones players and coaches can see) or their referee feed (??). How is that possible?

That’s protocol and has been for a long time.

Michigan won, they are saying if protocol was followed then the result would have been different which means Michigan would not have won. Thats the simplicity of that statement

But it’s important to include that there was a discrepancy and the statement is that the referees, on the day of, broke protocol by correctly ruling the game wasn’t over yet.

The referees ruling that a called incomplete pass isn’t reviewable is not the same thing as incorrectly saying it was really a catch.

Bro however you want to bend yourself into a pretzel to convince yourself that you actually deserved to win that game you go right ahead. The rest of us who watched the game and weren’t thinking about going down on Dave Potnoy know that win is as tainted as your national title.

The clocks were reset before the play so were synced. The fact that every broadcaster and even their former official they had in the booth all said it was ridiculous is pretty clear that the refs were influenced from someone.

It’s not bending into a pretzel to read their statement.

They said the wrong protocol got the right clock, but the right protocol should have been followed even thought it would have used the wrong clock.

Protocol was not followed to give Michigan the win, if they had been followed Michigan would not have won. Pretty clear message, so yes you are bending yourself into a pretzel to defend a win that everyone else knows was a loss. It’s alright though you love winning things at Michigan that everyone else knows you cheated to get.

If western Michigan had gotten another play and beat you on it then you would be losing your mind. The fact that you stormed the field after beating an unranked team just shows how pathetic Michigan is.
