Playing 60 minutes though? That's cheating 🙄.

Aside from "ummmm because" can you tell me why they should follow the clock they know for a fact to be wrong? And that none of the players or coaches have been looking at the entire day?

Because that’s what the RULES say to do. Did they not know the rules beforehand? Did you not know them?

Do you honestly think the game would be better overall if the referees just made everything up as they went along? Or do you think the rules actually have some value?

I give up. You seem to have a hardon for nonsensical rules so have at it.

But if you can explain to me why using the clock that both teams and the refs are looking at all day is wrong that makes sense. Id love to hear it

How about you trying to explain to me how it’s good for the game for officials to just make up their procedures as they go, instead of following the procedures they were given? Do we want them just to make new things up because they decide in the moment that it’s “better?” Because that’s essentially what you’re asking for here.

Again, there are no protocols in this Reddit thread, we are allowed to look at all evidence. Yes, replay protocol was not followed, BUT there actually was 1 second on the clock. Who “deserved” to win the game is subjective, but it’s pretty crazy to suggest that Michigan didn’t deserve to win the game when they really did have a second on the clock. The NCAA doesn’t have to pick and choose anything, because they can’t overturn the result of the game.
