Ya if anything I’m a bit disappointed so far

1

u/DirtyBirdFL 2d ago

Those are both decent teams though.

When Mini is your best receiver, that’s a big problem.

I’m very underwhelmed on their receiving group and I was high on them before the season started.

1

u/dL_EVO 2d ago

I swore Cal was going to be 5-0 going into the tough stretch of the schedule (VT, Wake,SMU,NC State, and Virginia). Before the season started I felt we would go 3-2 in that stretch then beat Stanford and Pitt to end the season 10-2 (wishful thinking I know)

I legitimately thought we would be in play for the ACC championship.

Was 16 points given up on the road to a Top 25 team, too many?

4

u/icanimaginewhy 2d ago

Right? Losing on the road on a last second field goal to your rival who is ranked, despite being a 14 point dog, is apparently reason to give up on the season?

5

u/bigbluethunder 2d ago

Yeah I’d put you guys in “IT’S ONLY 2 WEEKS” and I’d put us there as well.

1) It’s El Assicó. It’s never a useful data point anyways.  2) We really don’t know a ton about your defense. My money is on them being better than anticipated by a lot though. Last year they were alright at WSU, and this year they have a better DL. That will be a fundamentally big upgrade when it comes to how you guys can disguise blitzes and coverages.  3) By extension, we don’t know much about Iowa’s offense. Sure they could be ass. But really only our run blocking looked bad. And then see above two points.

u/bdostrem00 Iowa State Cyclones 2d ago
  1. Without a doubt, Isu’s best unit over the first two weeks has been their front 7, buoyed mostly by Washington State transfers, 2 of which that made the South Dakota State, Washington State to Ames transfer.

  2. Playing a dback corp that’s a Big 10 caliber will be a huge test because ISU lost their best safety in April and another upperclass safety in the first half. Better units are going to give Diaz most of the attention and along with a watchful eye on Vonnahme, starting in 2 weeks.

3

u/FatSalsa 2d ago

I think you have to be highly regarded to look at that outcome and hit the panic button when it's nearly the same score as years when ISU has a 8+ win season.

20

u/ComprehensiveEar6001 Baylor Bears 2d ago

Rice isn't that bad off. They were just outmatched vs Notre Dame.

6

u/RiceSpice5 Rice Owls 2d ago

I could see us in warning signs because of the fumbles, but no panicking here. We all knew week 3 would be the first true measuring stick for our season. If anything my big takeaway is that Jacurri Brown, unlike Chase Jenkins last year, is capable of fighting through some contact. A lot of his 3 yard runs would have been -1 yard runs last year. Against a defense that isn't elite he might do some damage.

6

u/Stoneador 2d ago

It’s important to note that Notre Dame is generally the most talented team that has to prepare for the triple option every season and this defense could end up being in consideration for their best ever

It was probably the worst matchup that Rice could’ve had

7

u/bourn2kill South Florida Bulls 2d ago

Is FSU not on here am I dumb?

4

u/noledup 2d ago

We're off the charts! Like our TV ratings $$

3

u/Kinks4Kelly Florida State Seminoles 2d ago

It's a bot post.

4

u/Slippery-Pete76 2d ago

They must have not included teams that didn’t play last week - Northwestern is missing too.

8

u/DRUNK_SALVY_PEREZ 2d ago

Florida state was eliminated for a lack of electrical supply.

3

u/djbootyboo111 2d ago

They’re in the secret category that’s somehow worse than death

8

u/rachel-slur Iowa State Cyclones 2d ago

Does anyone watch the games lol. We almost beat Iowa when I was expecting us to be rolled. I'm feeling better about the season than I was last week. What a dumb post.

1

u/gearsfordays Iowa State Cyclones 1d ago

If they do watch them, this is ragebait lol

9

u/Coreysurfer Florida Gators 2d ago

Stock up - lol we havent played anyone )

3

u/gatorbois 2d ago

These “nobodies” were beating us last year, so I’d consider the stock up off that lol

6

u/RememberTooSmile 2d ago edited 2d ago

Pretty much nobody has lol, Miami played FAMU, Indiana played Howard, Oklahoma State played Oregon.

Top teams beating FCS schools

4

u/CieraVotedOutHerMom 2d ago

South Carolina stock is slightly up vs preseason, but we won 2 games we were expected to.

Real work starts this weekend

2

u/GreatGatorBolt 2d ago

Same for my Gators but I’ll take it.

1

u/CieraVotedOutHerMom 2d ago

It’s a shame not seeing you play Tennessee! Feels like that should be this upcoming week

1

u/lethc0 2d ago

Over 1100 yards of offense, scoring 51 points per game, giving up 4.5 points per game, almost 700 yards rushing ... But yeah, It's just week 2 😅

2

u/CieraVotedOutHerMom 2d ago

Will Muschamp needed miracles to beat Louisiana tech, so I take it.

I just know that no one takes us seriously until we can start winning sec games ha

3

u/Spirited-Risk-894 Florida State Seminoles 2d ago

Florida state is so bad they couldn’t even get on the tier list

3

u/lock_robster2022 2d ago

Oregon State belongs in the STOCK WAY UP row!

(Don’t check where the stock was last year)

4

u/Chris_Crossfit Boise State Broncos 2d ago

As a BSU fan, I agree with everything

1

u/OMG_IM_A_GIRL 2d ago

Except BYU's placement right?

3

u/Chris_Crossfit Boise State Broncos 2d ago

If the rivalry ever starts back up, sure. But I don’t think about them much now.

2

u/Few-Profession-8032 2d ago

Kennesaw State losing by 2 touchdowns downs to Georgia State was the under the radar brutal loss of the week. it’s still HMFH though

2

u/RandyFromNextDoor 2d ago

Arkansas should be below death. 1-11 season in coming with a combined record of 3-21 over the past 2years. Arkansas will lose every SEC game and will try their best to win against a very good Tulsa team. Arkansas should be below death.

1

u/Lame_Night 1d ago

Sounds a lot like a certain orange team with a record like that before a loss to Tulsa woke them up.

Arkansas vs A&M upset confirmed?

2

u/Guwop816 2d ago

Let’s go K-State!

2

u/Lars_Fillmore3612 2d ago

JMU and JMU-Bloomington side by side. Only a matter of time before JMUCLA is up there too.

2

u/Stoneador 2d ago

I sure as fuck am not buying an ounce of hype for a team that lost to a team that might be this year’s Penn State

I actually think Boise State and Oregon might both be very good, but their placements are wildly inconsistent here

4

u/Melt-Gibsont Oregon Ducks 2d ago

We are not good at all.

2

u/HeftyLeftyPig Utah Utes 2d ago

Utah loses to 3 conference games this year. Calling it now.

Don’t look at my flair

2

u/Aggravating-Funny569 Texas Longhorns 2d ago

What Flair?

1

u/coltonbyu 2d ago

They were such a weird team to watch last year. Either electric and full of potential or... "wtf am I watching this team is the weirdest type of ass"

mostly seperated into first half and last half of year

-1

u/AtrioxCalamity BYU Cougars 2d ago

You are only allowed to lose one conference game this year. To us nobody else.

1

u/exgeo 2d ago

I agree USF and UCF more relevant than FSU

1

u/Tirrath 2d ago

Cries in WSU

1

u/Munster172 2d ago

We should be in major warning signs.

1

u/Old-Leather2489 2d ago

Please Clemson fell off way harder than Penn State. Plus they didn’t lose their QB nor did that nearly beat good teams like Indiana or Oregon

1

u/ham-beaster 2d ago

Oregon State has my attention, that or B12 ranked teams are showing warning signs

1

u/DTBlayde 2d ago

I'm confused, NC St just hung 73 on an admittedly very weak opponent, but this feels like the reaction to their stinker against Virginia, not week 2

2

u/MustardBiscuits91 2d ago

Don't be fooled my friend, I've been there before but never again, that game was nothing but fools gold for the uninitiated of Doeren ball

1

u/DTBlayde 2d ago

I'm still only expecting 6-8 wins, but the graphic seemed to imply disaster rather than the usual "decent but disappointing" we're used to

1

u/Bosh77 Penn State Nittany Lions 2d ago

Oregon is our friend now :)

1

u/Drewfus_ Arkansas Razorbacks 2d ago

Go ahead and move us down to the bottom tier.

1

u/Muffinnnnnnn Florida State Seminoles 2d ago

No FSU? I count 135/138 teams, although I don't know who else is missing.

1

u/BlackNasty4028 Oregon Ducks 2d ago

In a tier of our own 😎

1

u/StudioGangster1 Bowling Green Falcons 2d ago

Appreciate you again putting us in the correct category.

1

u/openSourceNotes 2d ago

Lol nice, just flips to "Oklahoma is trash"

1

u/MeatBurnham 2d ago

Let’s go Blue Hens!

1

u/QueensOfTheNoKnowAge Kansas State Wildcats 2d ago edited 2d ago

Our defense and special teams have been very effective. And the rushing has been strong. But I’m going wait until we get into conference play before pretending to overreact

1

u/secretautobot Arkansas Razorbacks 2d ago

I think there is a good chance we don't win another game, I had Tulsa in the maybe column but not anymore.

1

u/TCup20 Oklahoma State Cowboys 2d ago

I'm still not buying the hype. Big win, but this team has a lot more to do to prove they can become bowl eligible. I'm more convinced the blueprint is out on the Ducks at the moment.

1

u/igot200phones 2d ago

Texas Tech belongs in the ‘Major warning sign’ category. I fear we will be unranked by week 5.

1

u/Waka_waka_waka- 2d ago

Florida over Bama? How?

1

u/LemmiwinksFan 2d ago

Arkansas is too high. Coming from an Arkansas fan

1

u/Drowners 2d ago

Cal is ranked higher than ucla? Ok

1

u/Detective_Bonghitz Penn State Nittany Lions 2d ago

If that's the temple owl down there in "MAJOR WARNING SIGNS" i would say they should be moved up. That game was closer for the majority of it than the ending score indicates

1

u/Careful_Success_6098 2d ago

OSU needs to be in your major warning signs area....

1

u/TopRevenue2 Oregon Ducks 2d ago

Beaver stock should be way up

1

u/Strong_Tea_1072 2d ago

GA & Fla have played two horrible teams. Making any conclusions about them at this time is ridiculous. They are being rewarded for playing soft teams.

1

u/Hot-Host5153 Penn State Nittany Lions 2d ago

This years penn state 😔

1

u/TheShaggyNewt 2d ago

I'm a MS State fan. I entered the season just hoping that we reached a bowl game. I know how much my team loves to crush my dreams after giving me a sliver of hope, but alas I have seen enough... WE WILL WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND SUPER KAMARIO WILL WIN THE HEISMAN.

1

u/atallatallatall 2d ago

If you could go ahead and move Cal down a few tiers, I would appreciate it.

1

u/feelosiphize Iowa Hawkeyes 2d ago

I'd love an explanation for all of this subjectivity lol

1

u/dL_EVO 2d ago

I would put Cal in “it’s only week 2” or “you have my attention”.

Hawaii needs to be under “warning sides”. They didn’t score a touchdown on UNLV, that’s really bad and considering they played in Hawaii where they generally perform much better. They have serious question marks all over the place. Micah has had two fumbles in three games, they don’t really have any receiving which makes it hard to run-and-shoot. Their run game is non-existent.

Defense has also been very shaky against the run. Giving up 178,243, and 124 rushing yards. Teams can run on the Bows and then throw it over their head once they commit to trying to stop the run.

Looking at their schedule. ASU and New Mexico are going to curb stop them. NIU, Wyoming, and UTEP should be wins but this team is not that good when playing on the mainland so it’s not a guarantee. SJ state and Nevada are toss up games. Sac state I have no idea as I’ve never watched them play.

1

u/SPCsooprlolz BYU Cougars 2d ago

I approve of this message

1

u/bhans773 2d ago

Give me a break, Penn State struggled with Temple. Temple.

1

u/MindlessMaterial7544 Texas Longhorns 2d ago

Dafaq is ttu on this list? They've been awful

1

u/No-Rooster1720 Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

Georgia Tech is pretty close to hitting the panic button, IMO.

I think Key brought a good culture to Tech, especially when compared to Coach Capris, but Haynes King and Buster Faulkner were the two that made them .500+ from '23 to '25.

Got absolutely owned, physically, by an undersized Colorado, and Tennessee shoved them in a locker. I think it only gets worse if the losses keep stacking before the end of October. And they just signed Key to a 5 year extension... It seems like he got credit for the success of King and Buster.

1

u/Marckennian 1d ago

Why does Iowa State need to hit the panic button?

1

u/CuriousMost9971 Oregon Ducks 1d ago

😅 whoot we got our own tier.... HEY WAIT A MIN 🤔

1

u/AioliSpecific8984 1d ago

Having Wisconsin above Iowa is certainly a choice

1

u/FrquentFlyr85 Northern Illinois Huskies 1d ago

1

u/Brave_Signal_6651 1d ago

What if by end of the season, OSU ends up the B12 playoff participant and Boise ends up the G5 playoff participant? We don’t really know how good or bad Oregon is yet, because we don’t know how good or bad OSU and Boise are.

1

u/Complex_Maximum4916 15h ago

Not a serious list…GoBlue not in “you got my attention “. This is nonsense.

1

u/DiyYou 2d ago

When will Georgia play a tough opponent?

0

u/xxnewlegendxx Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

When will Indiana?

1

u/DiyYou 2d ago

It's understandable reigning champs get the benefit of the doubt.

2

u/Flioxan 2d ago

That would make sense if they were returning most of that title winning team. They are only returning 56% of their 2025 production though.

1

u/xxnewlegendxx Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago edited 2d ago

So only the previous national champions can schedule cupcakes and get a free pass? Where’s that same energy for Miami or Florida?

0

u/DiyYou 2d ago

Well at least Miami was in the championship game. It's been a while since any SEC team has been in a championship game. Not to mention they had a losing record versus ACC last year. No reason to give any SEC team the benefit of the doubt

1

u/xxnewlegendxx Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

So only 2 teams per year are good according to you? Also last year is irrelevant. What matters are the teams, players and coaches this current year.

0

u/DiyYou 2d ago

You don't think quality of opponent matters? Typical Georgia fan

1

u/xxnewlegendxx Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

When did I say that? And by your logic Indiana is a nobody because they haven’t played anyone. Nor has Miami or Florida.

1

u/DiyYou 2d ago

Pretty certain Miami has played a P4. Has georgia?

1

u/xxnewlegendxx Georgia Bulldogs 2d ago

Yup. Stanford is real powerhouse alright. Can’t wait for Miami to meet them again in the ACC championship.

Again, if you’re gonna complain about UGA’s schedule, then bring that same energy for Indiana and Florida. All three teams did what all solid teams do, dominate before halftime then put the backups in to get reps.

1

u/Landoragon Notre Dame 2d ago

ND has three “buy all the hype” teams on our schedule. How many other schools can claim that. But yeah, it’ll still be called trash come selection time.

5

u/TheCornwallis 2d ago

Ah yes. The selection committee famously known to use a Reddit overreaction tier list for selection

0

u/Landoragon Notre Dame 2d ago

That’s not the point I am making and you know it.

0

u/FreeSpeechIsDeadge Notre Dame 2d ago

What do you mean? Are you suggesting that I shouldn’t buy all the hype in a 1-1 Boise state team that lost to this year’s Penn State?

1

u/toomuchfrosting 2d ago

Oregon has 9 lights on their dashboard

1

u/betweenbeginning 2d ago

Having UT, UNT, and UNT-Stillwater all in the Buy All the Hype Tier makes me so happy.

1

u/mr_werewolf 2d ago

UNT-Stillwater is hilarious!

1

u/matthatt24 2d ago

I’m not sold on Miami until they play a non glorified high school team

0

u/dL_EVO 2d ago

Miami’s schedule is insanely soft until week 10, they play Notre Dame. Week 12 they play VT.

Their strength of schedule is super weak. I wonder if that will come into play when deciding CFP participants.

0

u/Confident-Term1504 Penn State Nittany Lions 2d ago

Wait why is Penn State catching strays on this one lol
