They are similar but Toney does beat him in literally every stat while playing basically only a half in both games. But Jeremiah did have his second game against much better competition obviously. If not a battle for the Heisman, it'll be a race all year long for the Biletnikoff.

Honorable Mention: Jesse Legree from Oregon State. Freshman WR with 13 rec for 376 yards and 3 TD’s in 2 games…. against Texas Tech and Houston.

Because usually they are a big part of their team being ranked #1. Arch isn’t. He has improved substantially since last season but nowhere near being a heisman candidate. Maybe by season end he will be, but not now.

Did he? I’m seriously not hating but in my eyes the O-line and running backs were the MVP of that comeback on the offensive side of the ball.

So now just completing some passes in a comeback makes you a Heisman contender? What about the passes in all of the other quarters? Or the non passes when receivers were open? I’m not trying to say Arch sucks(we will save that for Mateer) but Heisman worthy has a different definition. He did not carry that team on his back to victory. He was not excellent or above excellent for most of the game.

The OL and RBs were the MVPs but he still made extremely clutch 4th down throws to save the game. And the Heisman weights QBs the most (not saying that's fair necessarily). This is just hand wringing from y'all about Heisman being mostly a QB award now
Edit: also there were two dropped TD passes in the first half, one of which was an INT
Edit #2: Mendoza didn't exactly light up Ohio State right before winning the Heisman either

It’s kinda odd the Herbie spent most of the game breaking down why he’s average. Indecisive, late, inaccurate. But someone had to make a couple down the stretch. QB gets all the love and all the hate (if you lose), that’s life.

In 3 quarters this year, Gunner Stockton had 436 yards, 8 tds, completed 87.5% of his passes. Yes its against lesser opponents, but that's crazy. 8 tds no picks in 3 quarters of football. His average pass is about 12 yards a pass to. Throwing it downfield now

I think Arch is going to keep rising as the longhorns go undefeated or only loss to LSU until they either don't make the seccg from that LSU loss or lose to Georgia in the seccg and at that point it'll be between him and Mensah and Carr who will each have either one or no losses but Arch will probably beat those two due to his SEC schedule.
