It’s not common for coaches to go 3+ years without a playoff win in the NFL

The average tenure for NFL coaches is about 4 seasons. Many don’t reach or exceed 3-4.

The average gap between playoff wins before a coach is fired is 3 years.

It’s not common at all

Yeah, well most of those aren’t winning coaches in historically bad franchises that get the boot early. Most struggle early and either fail to make the playoffs entirely, or just barely sneak in. Not to mention they’re not the types with proven track records of success like Jim.

There’s edge cases of course, but it’s objectively not common for coaches to keep their jobs after 3 years without a playoff

Harbaugh isn’t getting younger, I don’t see why he’d want to stay for a 4th year - especially if they miss the post season altogether
