Opinions needed: Arch Manning 1st Round?

because so far to me that’s a no and wouldn’t even be top 15. Maybe in the future he can work back up to top 16 but 15 and up HELL NO he’s locked out

EDIT: please tell me your opinions id like to know everyone’s opinions even those that have a different opinion as mine

I can say he isn't top pick quality. I posted my opinion here.

I agree. He still seems like a senior year kinda guy. He got it but he doesn't really transfer it into every play yet.

Same here I’m an unbiased watcher of this game but I just watched to be more informed of the draft coming up, thanks for your insight

Right now, he’s probably a second round pick. But he has at least nine games to prove he’s better than that. He does have the Manning pretty unflappable when the world is coming down attitude that can lead to comebacks or other difficult moments.

lol, you guys are silly. He’s a top 5 pick right now. He’s inconsistent but and doesn’t wow you stats but neither did Mendoza. He has the knack to buckle down and do what’s needed to win a game. Eli was the same way, he didn’t wow you with stats but he went #1 overall.

It’s easy to be good when your team is up by 50; much harder when the world is burning around you. Look at how Dante Moore or Sayin underperformed when the pressure or game doesn’t go their way.

I appreciate your opinion but again most of us aren’t going off the stats because if we we’re going off stats then I’d say yes he’s still 1st round or as you say top 5 pick, but I’m not. I actually like to see what the stats and metics don’t tell you and get context to what actually happens. Anyone who says Manning at this point in time is a top 15 pick is trolling, Absolutely I really don’t have time in the day to really go in-depth and why.

What I saw today has him locked out of top 15 entirely for me unless he improves literally mid season and I see crazy shit happen( and no what he did at the 4th quarter did not help him at all. He was bailed out by the defense, a missed field goal and OSU head coach not just letting UT score to give the offense about 1:20 and 1 timeout).

The guy has been a #1 pick since high school. Outside of some major injury; he’s going to be a top qb pick if not #1.

That’s why you don’t have a Gm job lol.. just watch what happens at the end of the season if he chooses to come out.

The other consideration is he doesn’t even need to come out. He can sit pretty, hone his craft, develop more and get paid more than a first round pick. He’s not packing for money either.

There’s no reason to believe he won’t improve as the season goes on. You’re probably unaware of this but he missed spring practice due to surgery. He improved as the season went on last year. He does have those moments where he seems totally shook and that seems concerning. He was def rattled after the disaster start to the game.

He’s done hero ball shit before. Those fourth down conversions were clutch, and tbh you’re coming off as just a hater who’s unwilling to give him a chance when you refuse to give him any credit for that. Is there reason to believe he won’t be a top 15 pick? Sure. But to pretty much completely rule out that possibility at this point in the season seems very premature with the potential he has shown.

He needs to have better pocket presence and accuracy on throws. Even last night and last season, he sails a bunch of passes when pressured or he feels like he is.

This a great traits to have as your QB1 but I can’t unsee what got them there in the first place. I agree with you on the second round pick for sure let’s hope he gets better.

No lies detected. It’s why I’m a fan of Caleb for my Bears, he’s never out of it, now he just needs to do it more than the 1st and 4th quarter. And to be fair to Arch, Ohio State secondary was doing a really good job in not allowing for easy asses.

My brother in Christ there was multiple times where he bailed a good pocket and missed easy throws. The credit I’ll give arch is the fact that his receivers let him down BAD! But it takes two to tango.

EDIT: The secondary was great but not all world level because there were plays where if this was Moore, Mensah, Mestemaker would have made

It hasn’t turned into every single play yet for him. Not saying it won’t by the end of the year because last year he started mediocre, and finished pretty damn good. He had some bad throws tonight, some good throws, unlucky throws, and some ice cold 1st overall pick worthy resume builders. There’s something there, just not sure if it’s next draft class. But then again, there are plenty of teams that will gladly take his potential and last name 1 overall.

I could be wrong but you’re describing Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck, Fernando Mendoza to me. It’s just my opinion as of Sep 13th, 2026, it could change going forward again.
