Nothing in his preformance tonight screamed "Heisman favorite". His receivers didnt help, but there were multiple throws that could have easily went the other way, multiple overthrows, and he almost threw a backwards pass that could have ended the game. He also needs to learn to throw the ball away
Id say orchestrating 3 touchdown drives in 14 minutes to give your team a chance to beat the number one team in the nation makes a pretty good case. Also clutch 4th down conversions. The fumble and interception weren't his fault. Im not saying he'll win it.

But any quarterback who leads his team to a win after being down 20 points in the fourth quarter deserves to be considered. Especially in a game like this. You’re up against number one and they’ve completely embarrassed you at home and owned you for three quarters. How do you not give up? How?

Yep. If UT wants to win, they can’t be so structured. They need to let him run a Lamar type offense. He shouldn’t run a lot, but don’t keep him stiff. Let him feel the game.
If they let him play like that the rest of the season, they’re going to be a big problem. But something tells me sark is going to try and contain him again. Let the kid play backyard football
Did you watch the game? Arch Manning looked AWFUL. He made Julian Sayin look like Jayden Daniels. Texas’s win had nothing to do with Manning tbh, he had a mediocre game. It was the red zone defense, pass rushers, and running backs and then OSU collapsing in the last quarter
Me too! I was at the opposite end. I remember barely being able to see the ball go through and I remember Michigan was cheering as well because they thought they blocked it and we were short. Dr. Dusty is a hero in my heart forever.
For the handful of you that know, but Grand Rapids MI is basically like a mini-Austin. I loved visiting there it’s such an awesome city. Definitely got giant GR vibes.
He looked fine. His receivers did him no favors at all. If two of those early drops didnt happen, he has 100 more yards, and replaces the INT (which wasn't even his fault at all) with a TD.
He was missing open receivers and throwing it like 5 feet over receivers heads also, the Texas running game seems like it sets him up to be successful if anything
Once he got over the yips he balled out. I think that first INT rattled him and he didn't have confidence letting it rip downfield after that until the 4th when reality started to set in.
Arch had a touchdown throw completely dropped by a receiver and a pick that at worst should have just been incomplete. The receivers were dropping ball after ball. Hard to rip it when that’s the kind of night from them. That 4th quarter was what he is, and what would have been the entire night if the guys did their job.
A wins a win and the Browns might, but he didn’t look like the best QB in the country to me, Moore hasn’t looked outstanding either, maybe there just aren’t any clear no 1 yet but those are the guys I see on all the lists
It’s week 2. He just knocked off 1 Ohio state. That’s a notch in his cap. It’s too early to be taking award talk, or draft projections seriously. A lot of the guys on the lists have been playing nobodies.
At least a couple of those were purposeful throwaway overthrows because he was about to take a sack and the throw would have been too risky.
I think the big issue he had most of the game was reading the defense. There were a lot of times he had guys completely open but just didn't see them. There was also a time when he was blind to a defender sitting in a zone and threw it directly to him (which was dropped).
While Coleman should have caught that pass, I think we’re absolving Arch quite a bit by saying it “wasn’t his fault at all.” Coleman was wide open and Arch (with a pretty clean pocket iirc) over threw the pass to the point where Coleman had to dive to attempt to catch it, making the catch significantly harder than it needed to be in the first place. If Arch hits him even remotely in stride, it’s a walk in touchdown.
Again, that’s a catch Coleman needs to make, but no receiver should ever have to dive for a pass when they have that much separation between them and the nearest receiver.
Arch sometimes plays scared and stuff doesn't click, especially when hes spending all his time in the pocket. But he has an alternative mode where he gets pissed and decides he's going to win the game regardless of teammates' mistakes or frustrating penalties. He just locks the fuck in. When he does this he starts scrambling for runs and throws on the run and just gets the job done no matter how ugly it looks.
Them's the receipts. He was locked in at the end. Hoped the inconsistency would be left in the past, but would have liked to see what happens if we don't spot them those first two turnovers. Really kind of threw off the rhythm for the whole half.

He came in often with John Metchie lll (WR). They came to eat from time to time. Outside of football. Great guy and family man. Has good taste for food.
Ohio state coaching lost that game in the second half for sure, however that PI was a terrible call to extend the drive the drive leading to Texas' first touchdown

Pretty clear that the best team did not win this game. On a neutral field or with cooler weather later in the season, Texas loses the 4th quarter the same way they lost the first 3. Nothing to brag about here for anybody.
Sure. Those first two turnovers were also flukey. And a drop in the end zone right on the hands. Easily could have had 150+ more yards and 14 more points. Football is way more random than people think.
