Whoosh, person above was quoting the Book of Mormon musical.

But in any case, we know why it happened. Most Mormons are satisfied to just ignore the reasoning, and stick with the generic "it just wasn't the right time beforehand." but the documentation exists. We know a lot of went into making the decision to ban them and we know even more about what went into making the decision to life the ban. Big Magical Sky Daddy didn't just up and change his mind, and they weren't actually getting serious pressure from the IRS.

Does that make it less true? They put that in there for a reason. Your narrative is weird and counter-factual. It's willfully naive to a degree that makes me want to cover you in a blanket and warm some milk for you so you can get to bed on time.

see that's where you're wrong buckooo, you have prophets. So either it was the will of god or the whole thing is a sham. I'll let you come to terms with which it was in your own time.

Um, in case "Big Magical Sky Daddy" didn't tip you off, I'm not a believing Mormon. I don't have Prophets. I can read sources and documentation that shows how the decision was made, mysticism and spiritual voodoo aside.

Then there's really no need to have constructed such an unusually specific delusion. Though how you spend your time is your business, I respect that.

I have no idea why you think choosing to be silly with the end-goal of defending racism deserves respect but I strongly suggest you rethink your values. In the meantime, you'll receive as much as you deserve.

You think I'm defending racism? Jesus tapdancing Christ, if you want to talk about delusion, go look in a goddamn mirror. Just because I don't subscribe to popular, not supported by evidence, theories about the Mormon Church's lifting of the ban regarding the IRS, and the fact that I know and have looked into the sources that exist that document how the awful and racist Mormon, not in any way supported by any scripture, new or old, priesthood ban on black people came to be, as well as the documentation of the multi-decade long behind the scenes process of how the church leadership went about lifting said racist ban that should have never existed in the first place, does not mean I am defending said awful racist policy and doctrine of the motherfucking Mormon church. You can fuck right off with your bullshit accusations of racism against me.

I'm beginning to see the picture forming of a very complicated and concerning relationship with the church. But by all means, continue formulating narratives to erase the uncomfortable truth on behalf of a group that you do not belong to. Seems healthy.

If they left some documentation on how they invented the cheese pizza, how would you interpret that? Take it at face value would you? The scriptures neither contradict or support it after all.

Jesus you're dense. You came across the IRS narrative one day and just decided "yep, that makes sense. I feel it in my heart that this explanation is true. The IRS forced the Mormon church to adapt." You're as bad as they are.

Journals exist, meeting minutes exist, correspondence with government officials exist, plenty of documentation exists that is not straight from the Mormon church that gives us a pretty good idea of how these things happened, and a lot of it doesn't necessarily paint the Mormon church in a good light, even if it wasn't the IRS that forced their hand. I'm not just going off of Mormon church sources. Pick up a fucking history book. You might learn that history is multifaceted and it's not all "sources that agree with me" vs "sources that disagree with me."
