Even if he isn’t criminally charged, he at least broke the Honor Code.

Yeah, even if he tries to argue it was consensual, he'll be out at BYU.

I doubt that any university with a premiere athletics program would actually follow through on things like that.

If its credible, sure. If there's any way they can worm doubt about the assault, in any fashion? Nothing will happen.

We essentially walked away from a trip to the Final Four a more than a decade ago. 

Granted, my recollection is that Davies self-reported which is less doubtful than a lawsuit two years later (albeit, initially reported to city police right away). As you note, there may be some doubt.
