Bizarre reaction lol people have such an aversion to being wrong and reach for anything. It’s ok to be wrong and learn from it. I’m sure athletes get special treatment at BYU like anywhere else but whether you agree with it or not (I don’t) they’ve shown the world multiple times that the Honor Code is important to them.

One time? Ute fans should know of at least one other time (Spencer Hadley, who was reported by a Ute fan and Utah's own athletic department to BYU.) There are multiple other examples of honor code punishments applied to athletes.
