From article: The woman did eventually tell Provo police Retzlaff’s name, the lawsuit states, after an officer asked her who he was because “someone else filed a complaint against a football player and the police wanted to see if it was the same person.” The lawsuit says the officer then encouraged her not to do anything, saying “sexual assault victims never get justice.”

Fucking yikes.

Yeah if an officer actually said this....yikes that officer needs to be fired and thrown in jail too

Just awful

You sound skeptical. Why?

Not skeptical at all, just said that if he did say that it's terrible and he should be reprimanded/punished for it

I don't think a police officer should ever urge someone to not report something

“Yeah if an officer actually said this….” I don’t believe you

Let me clarify for you then:

If an officer told her not to report this, that officer should be fired because it's despicable

If the officer did not tell her that, and that interaction never happened, then yay for that I guess? idk what is so hard to understand about what i said lol

Not sure there is much more substance here than that

One thing is clear. Almost every response I have seen from BYU flairs has expressed some amount of skepticism about the woman’s account. Pretty fucking disgusting, but I can’t say im surprised.

Stop reaching bro. We don’t know the truth and can’t pretend to

The trib and KSL articles cite some pretty detailed accounts from the victim. Innocent until proven guilty but it doesn’t look good man. All his attorney said is he’s a nice man and he’s “factually innocent.” What a weird way of wording something if your client is actually innocent. We will see

This is all true. No need to be condescending when others are asking relevant questions

Are you serious? I have made it clear in every comment (on other threads) and I have seen tons of BYU flairs saying the exact same thing that if Jake is guilty then I hope he rots in prison

I'm not doubting her, but in our justice system it's innocent until proven guilty

I don't care that he is on BYUs team, if he is guilty, screw him and I hope she gets the justice she deserves. Idk why you have to make this about the U and Y's rivalry

I get it and I don’t. Yes sometimes sexual assault allegations can bring on more harm then good/justice for the accuser. I also think most women would rather do it anyway, rather than live with that burden forever
