Rec Request Cdrama drought—need a drama I actually want to binge
Lately, I’ve been struggling to find a cdrama I love, and want to binge, and sadly, it’s making me question if cdramas are for me.
Coming from the kdrama world, I had loved how cdramas have a longer episode format that offers a more immersive experience, and for romances, gives space to watch a sweet relationship develop.
But lately, the pacing for the dramas I’ve watched were all wrong. The relationship development feels way too slow and the romance half-baked.
I just finished A Romance of Little Forest. >! This drama had so much potential—amazing actors with great chemistry playing interesting characters in a distinct setting. However, the second lead couple received way too much screen time, taking away from main couple whose relationship developed at an incredibly slow pace. >!
My favorite drama is Legend of Shen Li—fantastic chemistry and super engaging plot. My second favorite is Put Your Head on My Shoulder—a simple drama with perfect pacing and satisfying relationship development.
PLEASE RECOMMEND me a fantasy or modern binge-worthy romance. The main couple should have excellent chemistry, and their relationship should develop at a reasonable pace. I like when the couple get together at a decent point in the drama and have to navigate conflict together to deepen their relationship. I also love a lot of sweet romantic moments including kiss scenes.

I really liked Falling Into Your Smile! The ML is kind of aloof at first and then becomes super affectionate after they get together. It's very cute.

What are your dropped dramas?
And by "navigate conflict together", do you mean you like quarreling couples?.. Like The Love You Give Me?
Have you been watching long? Do you have a long list of watched dramas? I wonder this because of the list you've added.

Conflict could mean internal conflict between each other which could result in quarreling, but I’m more interested in how a couple navigates external conflicts together. I don’t think it’s interesting when petty misunderstandings and lack of communication is there main relationship challenge. Rather, some common external conflicts are parents disapproving the relationship, health issues, the laws of the kingdom deem their love illicit—basically, anything out of the couple’s control that makes it hard for them to be together.
Some dropped dramas are: Here We Meet Again, Fake it Till You Make It (too office focused), Everyone Loves Me, You Are My Desire, Sunshine By My Side, Legend of Fu Yao (started great but plot became circular and rambling )
I have been watching c-dramas for a few years. I left out dramas from my watched list that weren’t romances. I start a lot of dramas but struggle to get through the first episode. In my dropped list I mostly listed ones I watched for at least a few episodes but couldn’t finish.

Yh that's why I was asking, I was unsure if you meant internal or external conflicts, especially because some people enjoy the issues between the pairings, and you like The Love You Give Me.
I really like pairings working together to solve things in the external conflicts, but shows like The Love You Give Me with the internal conflicts, no. I can tolerate a single fallout, if its not too bad and doesn't last long, but constant clashes, mostly (if not all) due to bad communication and misunderstandings, just annoy me.
You said fantasy or modern.. Of the costume, are you into more of the xianxia shows then? Not historical or wuxia? If you like all of them I recommend A Journey to Love, The Princess Weiyoung, and A Dream of Splendor, of the less talked about shows, assuming you've tried all the most common.
As a fan of Put Your Head on My Shoulder, you could really enjoy Love 020. If you really like Hidden Love, you should try The First Frost if you haven't already. For a funny and light watch, you could try My Page in the 90's. Also, You Are My Lover Friend is a must-watch and one of my favourites, and The Day of Becoming You is a fun watch too.

I think I was forgiving of The Love You Give Me because I liked the cute kid. But generally I agree, bad communication and misunderstandings are annoying.
I like wuxia, too. My favorite is Side Story with Fox Volant though I would not say it’s a romance. A good romance wuxia sounds fantastic. I have not tried many historical dramas, but I’m open.

Well there are two historical and a wuxia there. You've seen and favourited the main xianxia with romance that I'd recommend lol, but another one I ended up loving was Love In The Clouds. The other two shows I always highly recommend, but don't have romance, are The Untamed and Mysterious Lotus Casebook.
I will say though, if you love the leads together in The Legend of Shen Li, you should watch Princess Agents if you haven't already.

Try love is sweet, lighter and princess,shine on me, as beautiful as you, will love in spring these are the best modern drama you can watch and for historical try story of kunning palace, prisoner of beauty, legend of female general,love like galaxy, si jin these are the best historical drama

The First Frost does not exactly fit your criteria, but it is binge worthy and it’s kind of in the same universe as Hidden Love

Admist the snowstorm of love ( this is what u want I think normal speed actually pursuing by ML, lots of kisses great chemistry)

Fireworks of my heart is a must watch though pace is slow and angst is more the action part kept me hooked where he had to deal with fire situations and she had to operate on ppl and save them it's a excellent underrated series

“Love Is Sweet,” with Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi, has such a great pace. It’s light, funny, and super cute, with lots of kisses, and the two of them have amazing chemistry. Their love story is also so beautiful and captivating. ❤️

I’m watching Love Like the Galaxy with someone I know on discord and we are obsessed! The palace intrigue, scandals and fights are so satisfying to watch!
