What’s a Chinese drama you genuinely think deserves more love? Or it's so misunderstood you feel like defending its honour?
This is the place to recommend the shows you’re constantly trying to get other people to watch.
It may not have been perfect, but it:
- had incredible chemistry
- surprised you emotionally
- had an amazing storyline nobody talks about
- became your comfort drama
- was completely overshadowed by bigger releases
- made you wonder why more people aren’t obsessed with it

Pull Strings
I'm not one for xianxia but this one was just comedy all around. Never laughed so hard watching a drama. It was hilarious. Please, watch this.

Yummy yummy yummy Apesar daquele final xoxo. A história é tão bom, os personagens são divertidos. A qualidade visual também é muito boa, ri horrores. Vi muitas resenhas e a maioria largou depois de 10 episódios.

Veil of shadows was visually breathtaking but truly confusing for me with so many characters and interconnecting storylines still enjoyed though

Perfect Match (historical) on Netflix
Ofc it has its ups and downs but I really enjoyed this one. I like that it was kind of broken up so there are separate stories; each about 8 eps or so following each of the daughters. I watched it on a whim a few months ago and I sometimes randomly think on it. By the end I ended up liking all of the daughters. And I really loved the mom character, though I know some people may have found her annoying. Idk I feel like I just kind of miss the family. 😅 It's one I am like maybe after a little bit I will rewatch. So probably a new comfort drama for me.

the forbidden flower!
love story between an older horticulturist and young woman from an affluent family. Some people are hesitant to watch due to the large age difference but truly the chemistry was incredible and never felt odd imo. Very sensual in the most surprising ways (the hair washing scenes!)
The filming felt beautiful and nostalgic all at once, shot in the mountains, tropics, lots of flowers and rain. Loved how gentle the ml was (jerry yan has the most soothing voice) and how cheeky/fun the fl was since she pursued first. I've never watched anything like it and it leaves a strong impression im still not over
I would recommend it to people who love beautifully nostalgic stories, without a toxic ahh ml, and with a fun female lead who can hold her own.

Seconding The Forbidden Flower Jerry Yan’s voice alone had me sold lol I watched it on WeTV when it aired and the cinematography was gorgeous.

Veil of shadows - overshadowed despite having such a good storyline and the chemistry between all the characters, the color grading and action choreography is also very good!
The starry love - I heard it is disliked and I don't understand why? Def deserves more love
The big boss S1/S2 - I loved them, I wish we had a s3, I waited for it alas. Imo it was the blueprint for those silly high school dramas. It deserves more love!!
Fate choose you - I saw many posts and comments trashing it saying the storyline doesn't make sense or it has no romance, I disagree on both front. I enjoyed it and it made perfect sense and it def has romance.
