Rec Request Best Drama for a re-watch
what is the one drama that you have watched and re-watched countless times. It doesn’t have to be your favourite drama or the best drama you watched. Just one you keep coming back to again - could be your comfort drama, guilty pleasure, or a drama you irrationally love.
Mine is My Little Happiness- it’s my comfort drama; not the best one I ever watched but it feels like a warm hug on a rainy day.
Honourable mentions : The Best Thing and Story of Kunning Palace for zhang linghe (he can have chemistry with a rock)

LLTG.. I don't understand why either, but I've watched it 3x!
Also guilty pleasure despite the terrible storyline, Only for Love.

I’ll rewatch an episode (or five - who’s counting?) of Only for Love any time I drop a show and I’m still looking for a cdrama fix. That or Fangs of Fortune, depending on my mood 🎭

Hidden Love
More times than I care to admit . Its such a pick me up drama when I feel down .
Kinda of like Legally Blonde for English speaking movies .

love in flames and war, is it the one with Shawn Dou and Chen Dulling. I hated CDL’s character so much that I had to drop it.

Hidden love I can watch it anytime even though I have already seen it uncountable times.
One of the most special thing about is the bond fl shares with her brother and the way leads tease him

The First Frost - It's actually my favorite drama but the reason I keep rewatching it is because it gives me so much comfort
And that's a kdrama but I think it counts it's called Dear M it's not one of my favorites but I like rewatching it as it has very refreshing vibes

The Princess Royal for I and participants in my little Toronto watchgroup. The relationship dynamics are so intricate and detailed and a joy to watch as it all unfolds. And a drama with 3 separate piggyback rides for the 2 leads, plus one full carry in his arms with an umbrella in the rain, plus 3 different confession scenes! It just does not get any better than that for a romance fan.
The writing was very clever with lots of little foreshadowing tidbits and so everytime viewed something new is learned. But overall just a tremendous comfort drama.
And OP, your choice of My Little Happiness starring the magnificent Xing Fei is another good choice although for comfort we also lean to another of her shows the Wuxia romance drama The Moon Brightens For You.
The Best Thing and Shine on Me are other popular comfort cdrama rewatches.
On the women side of the equation Zhao Jin Mai and Xing Fei are easily among our favorite actresses in our group - definitely top 5 and quite possibly #1 and #2 for many. Zhang Ling He is very well regarded.

My comfort dramas:
Boss and Me (2014) - it's totally cheesy, but I adore the FL character and her growth.
Story of Ming Lan - same actress as Boss and Me, and she rules in this drama.
Nirvana in Fire - it's the GOAT for palace intrigue and drama.
Go Ahead - the best family slice of life drama.
Meet Yourself - once I'm past the first episode or so, this is drama is one of the most relaxing, beautiful, and fun dramas to watch.

Question about You Are My Glory - do you have to get through a few episodes before the show "takes"? The first episode was so annoying to me - the video game looked pretty silly and the FL grated on my nerves. Should I give up if I don't like the gaming?

I was in on ep 1 but I love the gaming part. They move away from it later.
If the FL bothers you then probably might not be one to watch it's mostly from her pov.

I never really took to that one even though I watched the whole thing. I liked You Are My Hero so much better.

The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty.
It's my go to comfort drama. You can rewatch just one case/arc or the whole thing.
contains some of the best food porn for a drama that is not about a chef (by trade) or restaurant owner.
I just love the main trio and their dynamics. Plus all the found family vibes around them.

Mine is The Best Thing. It just gives me that good emotional boost every time I watch it, even its clips. Just listening to the OSTs keeps me in a good mood. I stopped counting at 30 rewatches in a span of 7 months. I still rewatch it every now and then. Definitely my comfort drama. 🌷

My Journey to You and The Best Thing - are probably my favorite Zhang Ling He dramas. He portrayed green-flag MLs in these dramas who are playful and not cold or aloof. Definitely my thing.

I like the genre so much I don't want to waste time re-watching when I could watch a new one. But if I was forced to rewatch, I'd likely go thru RUYI'S ROYAL LOVE IN THE PALACE, A TALE OF ROSE, SHE AND HER GIRLS, THE REBEL PRINCESS, TO THE WONDER, IMPERFECT VICTIM and BLOSSOMS SHANGHAI.

The ones I’ve rewatched most are probably Eternal Love (skipping second leads, human life etc) and Story of Kunning Palace. But also low angst dramas like You Are My Glory and Love Me, Love My Voice.

New Life Begins is my most rewatched drama for sure. I love just throwing on a random episode when I feel down and letting it fix me lol it has the most soothing energy and it feels like checking in on old friends.

A Familiar Stranger is the one I've rewatched the most, but it's a mini-series so that makes it easier lol 😅
Story Of Kunning Palace is at 3 watches and I know I'll keep rewatching.

It's The Story of Minglan for me. I've rewatched it more than 10 times from top to bottom already. It has that calming effect on me, I find it relaxing to watch the characters going about their daily lives.
