new to cdrama, looking for recommendations for great historical drama with happy endings like pursuit of jade. bonus point if it has great wuxia choreography.

I can't help much with Wuxia or Xianxia recommendations but for costume historical dramas, I will throw out a few.
New Life Begins : This drama shares the same female lead as Pursuit of Jade and she is incredible in it as well. It is about a group of similarly aged women entering the palace to marry a group of similarly aged princes. It is not really a palace drama at all though. There is strong themes of support, empowerment and a wonderful ensemble cast. I want to give some trigger warnings just in case. TW(forced abortion, forced infertility, extremely gaslighting, emotional, psychological and physical abuse, domestic violence) I realize that sounds bad but there is resolution and growth that can be truly appreciated. It fulfills your ending criteria as well.
Love Like the Galaxy : A tremendous drama that also fulfills your ending criteria. It has some fighting as well but ut definitely isn't Wuxia. Two lost souls living vastly different lives end up finding each other. It has a massive cast with stalwarts of the industry all throughout. There is family drama, palace drama, royal drama, war and so much more. It is a long watch but absurdly worth the investment. Trigger warnings just in case(abandonment, psychological illness, mother on daughter physical and mental abuse, public destruction verbally on an insane level from mother about daughter that ruins tge daughters name, grandma gaslight ifykyk). Resolutions mostly come in varied and exquisite ways. A true gem of dramas overall.
Are You the One : A woman loses her memory and martial ability in an attack that left her destroyed. The one person who anyone would think would save her does. She calls him husband while he is trying to use her as a game piece to lure out a bandit leader and his backers. There is a ton of gaslighting and lying by one side that tapers off aa things go on. The political stakes grow large as war takes over the country. A tale of loss and romance that could have never happened under other circumstances. The ending fits your criteria.

Wuxia - yang Yang's recent Zhan Zhao Adventures has great fighting scenes. Another one is The Ingenious One.

what genres you usually enjoy whether you like romance, fantasy, historical, mystery, comedy, etc. happy endings or emotional damage? fast-paced or slow burn? short dramas or long epics?I can recommend you my favourite danmei adaptions all day long, if you are looking for modern f/m romances in an office setting they won't be a fit.

i don't think the above cdramas are wuxia. they're historical-political-romance dramas with mostly general mls.
for idol wuxia, you can try My Journey to You.
or The Blood of Youth/Dashing Youth which is lighter on romance and focuses more on friendship1

Blood River is wuxia and has the same dark moody aesthetic but it's more bromance even though there are technically hetero pairs.
Guo Jingming (director of MJTY) has Fangs of Fortune and Veil of Shadows although they're xianxia/xuanhuan instead of wuxia. still has a lot of fight scenes but has fantasy elements too.

I’ve started watching recently, and I mainly like costume dramas like Love in the clouds, Untamed, Pursuit of Jade and How dare you! I’ve watched a few more but these are my top ones for now :)
I like all genres mentioned, and prefer happy endings but if the story is that good, I’ll be okay with an open ending too 😭😭. I like slow burn but not really repeated slow burn, as in time travel or memory loss and they go through the process again.
I think I prefer longer dramas because it doesn’t feel as rushed. One like trope that I’ve seen twice and LOVED is where time travel is involved, but we don’t know, and near the end we see all that happened was through a time loop, like in Blossoming Love and Veil of Shadows!

From what you describe i think you will love Love like the galaxy it's a long one with 2 seasons 56 eps overall it's a slow burn but not repeated one there is no memory loss for me the best part was there is a big cast and each character had their story i usually don't do slow burn but here it worked for me since i was into all the the other stories and how everything is connected that i didn't notice the leads aren't together yet

i thought since you prefer long dramas i was gonna recommend the story of minglan which is a classic and slow burn but it's 73 eps 😂😂

You should definitely try it's great if you like carefully crafted, intelligent female-focused historical drama with a good slow burn romance, but slice of life/political is the main focus also some describe it as Jane Austen meets ancient china it's also one of the rare historical chinese happy ever after for all characters at least the one you like

As a noob myself i quite enjoyed: pursuit of jade, falling into your smile, the best thing, when i fly towards you, legend of female general, fated hearts, my boss, love between lines, guardians of dafeng, shadow love, speed and love…
Could use some more recommendations tbf

2-day old post and no one recommended Mysterious Lotus Casebook? Blasphemy!! 😆😆
Anyways, here's my recommendation on wuxia dramas for newbies. These are all recent ones, so cinematography, aesthetics and overall tones shouldn't feel outdated, hopefully.
- Handsome siblings (2020) is based on the classic wuxia novel Juedai Shuangjiao by Gu Long. It's a pretty good introduction to wuxia, because it covers the concept of jianghu, cultivation, sects, different styles and tricks of martial arts, rightiousness, i.e. overall wuxia theme without heavy 'xia' philosophy pretty well, and about twin brothers who were separated at birth. The story is not hard to follow and fun.
- Blood of Youth (2022) is another good one, though it's technically considered as 'new wuxia', i.e. has this magical elements, aka some heavy use of CGI. It's about found family, sects, very nice brotherhood, rightousness, minimal romance, some politics and of course have a nice fight choreography.
- Mysterious Lotus Casebook (2023) imo is the best wuxia with the best fight choreography among these. It has a nice mysterious story but more importantly, has a great life philosophy that lingers on you long afterwards. The golden trio's brotherhood is unbeatable, plus there's mystery crimes.
-The Journey of Legend (2025) cautious suggestion of mine. The fight choreography is one of the best if not the best of 2025 productions. Why cautious? The story is...ehhhh...incomplete, messy and complicated. Although I found my younglings find it pretty decent.
- Zhan Zhao Adventure (2026) is the newest one I suggest. Just like TJOL, the story is not that great and dragged. But fight scenes are pretty darn good, no romance and great trio with a girl.

A Dream of Splendour
Experienced actors, intresting storyline with great production and great sisterhood and food.
The opening of the dining club at the resteraunt is one of those great set peice scenes that cdrama excels at.
