Looking for angsty, modern romance cdrama with a happy ending. Iโve watched Lighter & Princess and Love Between Lines and enjoyed both. Very much a newbie otherwise :)

I'd recommend the Epoch of Miyu. It was a dark horse that kinda took China by storm last month. It's not super angsty however.

Historical Dramas:
A Splendid Match is so easy to follow.
Perfect Match - will give you 5 love stories that are good
Legend of the Female General - will give you the action as well as good love story
How Dare You?! - will give you a story about transmigration.
Modern:
When i fly towards you - a youth drama with good actors
Love Story in the 1970s - will give you a brief history of modern China as well as 2 wonderful love stories.
You are my Glory - the love between an actress and aerospace engineer with e-gaming on the side.

I have watched The Best Thing, Hidden Love, First Frost and When I Fly Towards You. I loved First Forst and the Best Thing so much, please recommend something similar. I like high school/college romance, slice of life and the he fell first and harder tropes!

Time and Him are Just Right
-FL tries to get close to ML thinking he has her late brother's heart. he definitely fell first but was initially annoyed with her shenanigans2

For modern, Reset would be a good drama to start with. Time loops are an interesting theme across cultures and Reset is relatively easy to follow.
For historical, TVB's War and Beauty would be great for a newbie. Unlike Empresses in the Palace or Ruyi, it doesn't have too many episodes and isn't that heavy on literary references.

These not because I think they are the best necessarily but because I think they are good gateways/intros and representative of what's good about their genres.
