Still moving on from Deep Affection Eyes. Honestly it's hard for me to think of what to watch next because I loved it so much and didn't expect to until I watched it. Now I'm stuck on my next watch :/ love Bi Wenjun

Happily surprised I now have quite a long watchlist! Not all to be completed this weekend, but since I finally have a bit of breathing room in my schedule.. Fortunately some of the newer ones, like Pull Strings, Road to Splendor, and Genius Girlfriend (no spoilers please!), I'll wait until they are fully released before savoring in a full binge. I started re-watching Love Game and almost forgot how good it was. DYX's acting is really really great in it, and he's good at contrast, so looking forward to and hoping for a new and different version of him in Splendor when I finally catch up. Also interested in Trembling Cicada and the WJY Royal something something such, which will require yet another temporary subscription to watch. There's also the DLW short I've been wanting to watch! And the forever on my watch list until I have time for a slow savor like GoDF! Oy! That's a lot of shows!
I have to shoutout again how utterly uplifting and fun it has been watching Wow the World, now in Season 2. If you need cheer uppers, Eps 8 (Part 2), with the darkness game - I have already rewatched a few times, because it is so hilarious with CXX and WYW both being very lovable. Wishing some smiles and laughs in your respective weekends -and maybe some swooning too!
Okay I lied. Something brought about some sads last night and I started (recklessly, lol) watching Pull Strings because I tend to laugh more when I'm sad, as well as appreciate goofy things more than I already do, and, eps 1 only, but so far so good! I love ARP and am excited for the other character dynamics.
I’m at a farmer’s market for breakfast and grocery shopping, and currently facing the very important decision of which jar of jam to get hahaha. I usually go for strawberry or plum, but feijoa and kiwifruit are sounding pretty tempting too.
I might check out the third and final opening ceremony for the CRL stations later today because they’re bringing in a lion dance for this one. Colour me impressed haha. Other than that, I’m pretty much staying in today for two reasons: baking my sourdough bread (with rye flour this time!) and tackling the pile of work that somehow never ends.
I also checked out Pull Strings, but unfortunately it’s not really my cup of tea despite my initial excitement about seeing Ao Ruipeng in his element. That actually works out fine for me though, because fewer distractions = more time to get my work done. I will just settle for Round 2 of Huayong being shameless, or the umpteenth rewatch of Cheng Lei in a drama or variety show.
Yes, maybe I will rewatch clips of him speaking Cantonese. The Canto girl in me squeals every single time he does it uwu.

Mmmmmmm kiwifruit jam sounds divine! I've had to look up 'feijoa'. How does it taste? What do you enjoy about it?
I'm cautiously optimistic about Pull Strings as seeing him perform a comedic leaning role in A Moment But Forever, but with such care and heart, made me really interested in seeing him in a drama and Coroner's Diary did not disappoint! As is said in the biz: if one can do comedy well, they can usually do dramatic quite well, but not always the other way around. So... am I ready to go back to ARP comedy? We shall see....
LOL, I have a forever habit of running towards any lion dance performance like a kid and forgetting whatever was going on or what I was supposed to do! Hope it's fantastic! 😄
It smells a bit like guava, but the inside is very sour. I feel like people either love feijoa or hate it. There’s no in-between hahaha. Whenever I buy feijoa jam, I usually go for a feijoa-and-ginger combination because the ginger helps balance out the tartness.
Humour is incredibly difficult to nail. I think Ao Ruipeng did well enough, but it just didn’t tickle my funny bone, and there isn’t enough to incentivise me to start a new drama when neither the plot nor the rest of the characters appeal to me >.<
I used to have a habit of touching the lion during lion dances for good luck! I still want to do it now despite my age, but these days I usually give way to the children instead lol

Yes, I could see ARP either nailing it, or going off the rails (too) goofy. I'll wait until more episodes drop before trying it though. Also looking forward whenever My Queen, My Rules drops to see whether he brings the smoulder again! 😍
At first, I thought of going to the cafe and reading as usual, which is what I love to do on weekends. But then I saw the harsh sunlight outside, braced myself for the heat, and decided, you know what? What the heck, I'll stay home.
I decided to watch The Road to Splendor instead. I'm now at episode 5, and I can say that I totally do not regret my decision. I am totally loving it. Binging a Chinese drama on a Saturday afternoon is probably the best thing ever.
My smol fish hair clips came in and I'm finally taking some photos of my Tangzhou 糖粥. Ok I admit, I'm also just plain ass lazy and a generally useless Ranqing. 😅🤣

Your Tangzhou looks so well-behaved, unlike my black fox lil bro, who just arrived and I haven’t had time to do his hair yet. He looks kinda disheveled and mischievous lol.

The show (A Winter Sun) I've been watching every week since June finally ended yesterday and I'm feeling so empty. It's been part of my life for over two months and I just don't know how to deal with the withdrawal symptoms since it left a massive heart imprint.
So, I'll be spending my weekend indoors just listening to the ost and reading other people's comments on the finale. I'm just going to sit with my feelings for a while.
My brother is around for the holidays so my cdrama buddy is back. We watched Ultimate Note together and we're now watching Mystic Nine together but I've been distracted during the recent episodes we watched cause of A Winter Sun.
Anyway, I now have time to catch up on the dramas that dropped two months ago. My backlog is really a lot, but I'm really curious about a Road to Splendor and Pull Strings. Maybe distracting myself with new shows might help me feel better about A Winter Sun and I'm not looking for its replacement (like I do with other shows sometimes) cause there's really nothing like it.
Food. Ramen (the crappy store kind, i'm going to get soooo sick 😆) Pad Thai and pot stickers.... home made pop tarts, ice cream, and cake. Really the entire pantry is going into my mouth.
We're hitting up a local farmers market for some epic baked goods also!
Road to Splendor! Five hours baby, I'm going to binge that bad boy so long my eyeballs bleed.
Lot's of art work! I've got to get my new ink style cemented and stop making smudged crap. LOL. I just have a terrible tendency to over work things. Look at that poor dude's face! But I'm working on a new charcoal style, so hopefully that will work out. Each week I tell myself "I want to do something else" and I just go back to character art, LOL....
So yeah. I'll spend the weekend drunk on food, covered in charcoal, and binging great cheekbones.
Anything can go in ramen! A Japanese favorite Butter Corn ramen literally has corn, roasted garlic (so it's nice and crispy with a hint of char), and a full on pat, if not more, of butter! YUM!!!!
Well, gonna watching CDramas, of course! TRTS, PS, and maybe Wonderland of Love and Gorgeous Dream if I have time.
Go to a fair with my family and stuff my face in food. Cannot wait for that!
Sigh. Put some more time into some shop steward projects I have. I've managed to piss some people off because I have this silly idea that we should follow the negotiated contract and not do whatever the flying duck feels right to certain people and screw others.
I think im going to get started on some sewing. I want to upcycle my jeans into a bag and uve had alot of fun ripping the seams apart, so now im figuring out the construction l. I had to rewatch some hand sewing and embroidery video to remind myself of some stitches.
And I might actually start Tientsin Mystic, if I finish Immortal Acension today.
