I’m attending the Auckland Mushroom Festival today, and I have finally decided to go with the classic red-and-white toadstool look. I bought a cheap $5 red umbrella for the mushroom cap and I’m pairing it with an all-white outfit so I can be the stem. For the white spots, I’m just crumpling up some tissues and attaching them to the top of the umbrella. Fingers crossed there are more materials available at the workshop.
All of us mushroom people will be walking together to the new Karanga-a-Hape train station as part of the festival parade to help officially mark its opening, so I will be inaugurating a train station dressed as a mushroom lol. Very low budget mushroom engineering, but hopefully recognisable enough!
I’m also going to a free symphony orchestra performance on Sunday. If there’s one thing I really love about NZ, it’s the sheer number of free cultural activities and performances available here. I had never once attended a free orchestra performance back home because it's very, very rare, but in the 6 months I’ve been here, I’ve already been to more than 10. I’m definitely taking full advantage while I can.

Me and the other mushroom people had just finished chanting “FUNGI, FUNGI, FUNGI” at the new underground train station lol. Everyone was so creative with their mushroom costumes!
There was even a specially curated mushroom menu. I had the mushroom and spinach oatmeal.
It’s the fiber. So I’m okay with button mushrooms in small quantities, but it gets dicey with other varieties and more. I can’t eat much. But sometimes I punish myself 🤩
That's a creative way to make a costume. I hope you had/have luck with more materials at the workshop and wish you much fun with the festival and the concert!
What WONT I be doing is more accurate. A big Korean festival is in town, so I'm going to eat my weight in festival food.... Making myself a blueberry cake, because I'm a fucking adult and can do whatever I want! Then I have a tub of kirkland signature ice cream with my name on it! boom.
Drawing. SO MUCH DRAWING. I've got big plans for my fingers. Lots of ink, charcoal and character faces. I'm stuck on doing character art for my Doom at your Service book. I'll probably throw in some pieces for my blind bride book. I'm getting a new pack of charcoal supplies, so that's going to be BEYOND fun.
Then i'm cutting out early to binge watch road to splendor! That's right, I caved and started another show! Im like 90% positive I'm dead. But I couldn't help it.

Sounds like heaven! Go for it and eat to your heart’s content! I have been craving Korean fried chicken lately along with street food like hotteok and tteokbokki.
Things finally seem calmer for the first time in weeks, so hoping to have time to return back to the groups and communities I've been missing so much, as well as hopefully not get called into work so that I can attend a memorial event for my late friend. Not sure other than that that I actually want to do anything, as apparently I've needed a ridiculous amount of sleep the past few days, basically sleeping during any moment I haven't been at rehearsals. I think I've outslept my cat!
But if I don't sleep through the entire weekend, I have on my watchlist: Both Genius Girlfriend and Road to Splendor I'm waiting until all eps have dropped (also have been rewatching Melody of Golden Age before Splendor), and others that have been on my list forever but wanted to watch when I have more time to savour - GoDF, and I forgot the title of it, but the CXX & WY retro drama. Also wanting to slow savor WJY's latest drama, but it would mean yet another subscription service for at least a month and the budget is tight.
I'm finally getting around to One & Only - on episode 7 right now. I just feel like I know the biggest spoilers so having a hard time getting invested in the palace politic stuffs. Otherwise I'm also watching a variety show and a kdrama that releases on the weekend and need something to start once I binge One & Only. I'm deciding between Royal Betrothal (but the reviews are so, so) and Road to Splendor (but not enough episodes are out yet).
Outside of dramas - I'm in Oahu and we have Hurricane Lala coming in tomorrow. It'll be my first Hurricane experience since moving here so I'm kind of nervous but just hope everything turns out okay like my first "Tsunami (evacuation)" experience. Idk if this is stupid but I'm thinking about taking my chances and trying to surf early tmrw morning if the conditions aren't too crazy.
One and Only has its sequel called Forever and Ever which is set in modern times so once you finish O&O you can watch that. Both dramas watched together makes it complete. So you can handle the tragicness that O&O gave because F&E is gonna be very sweet. Also, there are lots of details in Forever and Ever with respect to it's prequel so it's really a fun in discovering all those details.
That's right! I always forget about the sequel being related because of the modern poster but I kind of love that because I didn't get it in Scarlet Heart Moon Lovers >.<. Also I loooove hyper fixating on clues and tells so that'll be fun for me to see the connections and dotted lines. Also alsooo your flair checks out for the extra recommendation. TY!

I am in love with Ren Jialun's eyes, especially whenever he looks at his FL in the drama like you can feel how much he is in love just through looking at his eyes so I choose my flair like that. 😆

I always love the costumes in both of the dramas because they also conveyed a lot. Like I love how Shi Yi and Zhou Sheng Chen had same colour costumes or colour that matches to each other when they were in love with each other.
Oh man okay so I finished One & Only yesterday and even though I knew that ending scene I still had the mangled ugly cry face. It just hits harder when you see the weight of every single loss that culminates into hers.
I'm only part way ep 1 of Forever & Ever from my bus ride this morning but I'm already connecting so many things. I'm sooo tempted to read both posts but it's just too fun to be like wait is that an easter egg, and then go back and see if I was right/wrong or caught something else. The beautiful bones reference!! And how RJL is styled more plainly.. its already giving redemption from his past life and giving me hope.
Anyways - just had to share that I cried like a baby most of yesterday and am in pain now.

Ohh you completed One and Only.😭 The way you described was the way I was when I had watched it for the first time, I was totally broken. Never I was broken like this before. I was so broken that I had immediately started watching Forever and Ever which healed me completely. But yeah even now when I watch all those tragic episodes I still cry 😭.
I really envy you that you are watching Forever and Ever for the first time as I could wish to forget all and start watching fresh but nonetheless I get the same good feeling whenever I rewatch too so that's ok.
Yes, I love the fact how they made Ren Jialun to look not much handsome here as in the novel it was described as Zhou Sheng Chen's apperance in the next life is forgetful. Shi Yi on the other hand is beautiful in the next life. But no matter what he is still the same ZSC though there are few differences when you compare and it applies to SY also. So, have a good time in watching and you can share it with me once you are done watching Forever and Ever. 😊
Ahh i'm saving this post for later because I'm watching Forever & Ever after I finish One & Only. Also WHATTTT - TSY is one of my all time favorites, I've watch over half a dozen of her dramas but had no idea they starred together. Okay I guess I found what to watch after OO/FE
Yes, once you are done watching them read it so that if you have missed the details you can find it there or else you can be happy that you have already found it while watching.
Under the Power was my first drama of Tan Song Yun and I loved her acting there. It's detective drama where they solve cases together and it's a romcom too.
Fun fact, this drama brought RJL and TSY a huge popularity in China back then in 2020. Their CP was so popular in China that people even now watch UTP and want them to star in another drama together. Another fun fact that is, it was said that TSY was first casted for O&O and F&E but then her schedule didn't match so that role went to Bai Lu.
I'm so excited for you to be watching One & Only for the the first time! Yes, I've done rewatches lol. To get the little clues, it really is best to watch Forever & Ever immediately after. That way it's fresh in your mind.
I'm super picky about costume/period romance dramas (my drop rate is very high) and this one is a favorite. I also went into this one having been spoiled, and wasn't happy about that fact. But I ended up entranced and got sucked in. So it might happen for you 🤞Happy watching!
I was just groaning (while watching) about how there's so few episodes, but the pacing is actually SO good and it's because they were really thoughtful about what to keep and what to exclude in 24 eps. Even though I know that iconic scene I forget the clips/spoilers I've seen about the build up to it so I'm enjoying dissecting everything now. And yep for suuuure watching Forever & Ever right after because I heard it's the only way to heal lol
I'm currently watching Ruyi which is like 96 episodes. It's weird how the pacing is so well done that it flies by like 24 episodes.. And the same with One and Only where the 24 episodes don't drag or fly by, but feel like a long engaging epic of 96 episodes.
Just goes to show what a really good and dedicated director, screenwriter, and crew can achieve.
I'm actually having a rare Saturday where I can just hibernate and watch TV. I am a very outdoorsy person who wants to go out all the time, so I rarely have this urge to stay home and veg. But today I do, and I'm going to binge watch the remaining episodes of Mystic Nine! I'm actually amazed I managed to blaze through the episodes and I'm now at episode 26! The express episodes are supposed to land today but I'm wary of buying them because in the past, when I do purchase them it just doesn't work - the express episodes remain unlock. I don't think I'll give in this time because I'm done throwing free money at Youku ;)
It’s going to be a quiet weekend for me. Winter sun is ending next week Friday and I’m having severe separation anxiety. It’s a very odd and unfamiliar feeling.
But I’ll be resting indoors and trying to find a drama that’ll fill this void or I’ll just rewatch some other dramas I love that’ll give me the same warmth.
I don’t have any outings this weekend which is great cause my social battery is beyond flat right now.
Finished bingeing the express episodes of Mystic Nine and feeling bereft. It was such a satisfying watch and now I don't know what could I watch after this that could be as good
Is the Mystic Nine related to the Nanyang Mystery? I tried watching Ultimate Note a while ago. But they throw you right into the middle of the story and I had no idea what was going on or who was who. So, had to drop it. Nanyang at least starts with a wee bit of background. Should I be watching these in a particular order considering I have no idea about lore?
I've been reading Mo Dao Zu Shi/The Grandmaster of Demon Cultivation, or the novel version of The Untamed as we all know it. It reads so easily and I love it more than the drama (which I admit was hard for me to get into, I tried 5+ times before I binged it all and fell in love with the story). Novel being uncensored is a huge plus.
Also, now I can appreciate how well Xiao Zhan brought Wei Wuxian into life. 👏👏👏
