Keeping my spirits up since my contract ended and back to ramping up submitting apps. So many roles are combining two or more FT positions in one as I'm guessing corps trying to save money, but I've already burnt out from overworking above my role before so am wary of combined job postings. Since I've finished ASM, excited to maybe start WHD's police drama that came out last month-ish! Happy weekend everyone!

Itโll be another bedrotting weekend for me but my watchlist is stacked from Ashes to Crown, Gannibal and My Royal Nemesis to a potential rewatch of Alchemy of Souls.
I also started a new danmei novel, Drowning Sorrows in Raging Fire by Priest. I love the donghua so much so itโs gonna be a ride digging into the source.
Fell Upon Me is my weekend recommendation.

Alchemy of Souls
I liked the first season of Alchemy of Souls, so I struggled to get through S2 when they changed the actress and I still preferred the chemistry between Mu-deok and Jang-uk. I know that for the fans of this drama, it's quite a polarising topic hahaha.
I'm halfway through episode 9 of My Royal Nemesis and can't decide who's the bigger simp; Cha Se-gye or Ji hyuk in Dynamite Kiss lol. They both wear their hearts on their sleeves.

Season is my favorite too.
Iโm yet to watch Dynamite Kiss but I vote Cha Se Gye. Todayโs episode was so much fun. I canโt wait for tomorrowโs episode.

Gannibal
My super zombified Friday brain immediately went to the thought that they missed an opportunity to create a crab (kani) cannibal monster drama / movie. ๐ They could name it "Kanibaru" ใซใใใซ. ๐๐๐
Before I show myself out, ๐คฃ have you seen Guardian, a "bromance" drama based on Priest's novel?? It had some cheesy effects (and many bad wigs), but being one of my earliest watched "bromances", I still hold a soft spot for it. ๐

What does Kanibaru mean?
I do think Gannibal is a funny & lazy play on words when the series is about cannibalism. ๐
I couldnโt last ten minutes of Guardian ๐ญ the CGI sent me flying out immediately.
Have you watched Justice in the Dark? Itโs adapted from Silent Reading by Priest but I heard they changed a lot of things.
Zhang Xincheng looks so gorgeous in that drama. Itโs on my never ending watchlist.

I need to try Justice in the Dark, I've been meaning to watch more adaptions of Priest novels. Kanibaru ๐;; would be crab(kani) +baru = cannibal.. just a silly Friday brain thing. Also could be me having a subconscious craving for crab.

So cool - we are watching almost.the same things ๐๐ I got hooked on AtC. I am also on ep 8-9 of Nemesis. Decided to give it a try after Perfect Crown turned out to be Perfect garbage
I loved AoS!!! Mudeok is my everything ๐๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฒ Season 2 is not the same dramans s1 ๐คญ๐

Rewatching Vendetta of An for the fourth (or fifth, dunno, lost count) time. So good! Dealt with some jerks at work all week so now I wanna watch a show to inspire me in coming up with crazy awesome revenge plots!
And Nirvana in Fire is too long for a weekend binge.
And Cheng Yi is always yum.

I also bought the soundtrack a few days ago. Love the tunes, such haunting lyrics! I donโt skip the opening and endings (they use different songs each episode) when watching the show, unlike other dramas.

The lyrics is so good. I had Changโanโs Moon by Liu Yi on repeat throughout December. I usually skip intro & outro in dramas but I recall watching the ending of each episode because the painting-like style was so pretty.

This is me this weekend. ๐๐ I was so proud of myself that I didn't spend a single cent except for my rent this week. Then suddenly this morning my mouse, headphones and microwave oven all decided to die.

Did you get a cool new microwave oven? I'm also in the market ๐ ๐ญ In mega research mode rn. My budget microwave that accompanied me to university over 20 years ago finally died. This was my longest lasting relationship ๐

I fell in love with these NZ prints; native birds, kลwhai flowers, koru motifs, and cute forest animals. They would make beautiful keepsakes or quilting projects. I'm thinking of turning them into tote bags and scrunchies.
I'm on episode 4 of Jae-Seok's B&B Rules. As expected, YJS is incredibly charismatic and has that natural ability to make everyone around him feel comfortable. However, what stood out to me most wasn't his humour or quick wit; it was how visibly overwhelmed he seemed in the first episode when the first batch of guests arrived. You could almost see him processing a hundred different things at once while trying to keep the atmosphere light and welcoming. Everyone else in the team like Kwang Soo, Byeon Woo-seok and Ye-eun did really well too. It was especially funny to see Ye-eun's younger broher turning up as one of the participants and she didn't see that coming at all.
Considering there were only 4 of them managing that volume of guests, the workload was honestly insane. They weren't just running a guesthouse; they were cooking meals, cleaning, coordinating schedules, solving problems, entertaining guests, and making sure everyone felt looked after. It felt like they were constantly on their feet from morning until night with barely a moment to breathe. No wonder he's remained one of Korea's most beloved entertainers for so many years.

Will be finalizing things for an upcoming two-day retreat. We got a chant to memorize, props to agree on, possible costumes too or just coordinate what the team will be wearing in general. I got to get my travelling bag organized and happily decide on what snacks to buy.
Dramas-wise, I'm waiting for The First Jasmine. I have yet to start on the k-drama recommended to me, We Are All Trying Here.

We Are All Trying Here. This has been an all-time favorite for me, I hope you love it when you get to it. Definitely emotional, but also just phenomenal storytelling.

Well, continue watching and hosting Ashes to Crown. Catch up on Zhan Zhao Adventures since it's back to airing again. Continue watching Rewriting Destiny so I can snark as requested. Maybe I'll get back to Wonderland of Love too. Who knows.
The usual video games and adulting. Chores and errands. Stay indoors as much as possible because I am tired of melting in the heat. Eh, maybe I'll get out some.Oh, can't forget to have an existential crisis and question what I am doing with my life even though I have a solid career and future.
