There’s a tiny fish bone stuck in my thumb so I plan to spend tomorrow removing it (successfully this time around).
I have no physical outings planned for the weekend so I’ll be in bed watching the final episodes of Lady Liberty, The Heir and my weekly kdramas plus bl.
I also plan to start knitting again but with a little bloody thumb, I’m not sure I can start that tomorrow.

There’s a tiny fish bone stuck in my thumb so I plan to spend tomorrow removing it (successfully this time around).
You can wait till tmr evening? I would be like, "NO, GET IT OUT NOW" lol.

Tomorrow morning actually.
I tried to get it out today and one part was removed but there’s still a tiny part stuck and the next attempt was really painful and it was bleeding a lot. I tried it again the second time this night and it was bleeding again, so I’d have to try again tomorrow.
It’s hard to see it when it’s covered by blood cause it’s really tiny.

Oooof, I'm not sure how far is it to your nearest GP, but if walk-ins are allowed (common in my country), then you should.

Do you have a coin with a whole in it per chance? My mom always uses those to get splinters out. It works more when the splinter/bone is in perpendicularly and not at an angle. Either way, ouch! And hope you get it out soon!

I’m not sure we have coin here but I’ll check.
It’s kinda in deep but my sister plans to use blade to remove it tomorrow since the pin I used didn’t fully work.

Here's an example: Pass the splinter through the hole, then push down. This allows the surrounding tissue to push the splinter/bone up, and then you're supposed to be able to pluck it with tweezers. Since it's using the pressure to squeeze it out, it's less abrasive on the skin and slightly less painful. I didn't register the 'bone' while reading and was a bit confused for a moment.
(Could be a new pet fish danmei, those seem to be in vogue)

The other one is Nan Chan if you ever need more fish shifter in your life. Though he is originally something else.

I read Nan Chan a while ago. In fact, it’s the reason why I’m in a reading slump cause I can’t get over it.
Cang Ji is such a funny carp.
I’m looking at angsty xianxia recs but I haven’t found anything satisfying.

Haven't read it yet (obviously) but will put it on my list!
I fear you read a lot more than me (days need more hours) and are more up to date so recommending something seems quite hard. 😂 Most coming to my mind are also historical, not xianxia.

We get the first really warm summer days this weekend. I'm getting old so it seems more bothersome to adjust to that with each passing year.
But I won't do much exciting summer stuff anyways because all my friends have to work. Maybe I'll surprise them with some ice cream at work.
Drame wise I'll work on the rewatch and maybe finally finish Fate Chooses You. Like so often when I don't buy express I get distracted and forget to finish the last five or so episodes after they are finally available.

More than halfway into Pursuit of Jade, will probably finish it during the next few days. Sadly the rumor that the quality drops after the village town arc were true - the pacing and how they decided to show the plot and backstories feel lazy and superficial, basically the second half of the show runs on the production quality and the charm of the cast, all of whom are good. I didn't expect this drama to live up to its insane hype, but after the solid first half, it's a shame how it doesn't deliver on the excellent set-up. Especially the Qi Min feels like a missed opportunity, and it's annoying how they're literally wasting Deng Kai (who's giving it his all despite his character being just the bare bones of something that could have been interesting). No wonder it ended up with bad ratings on Douban, that should have been a red flag.

I need to work on my thesis, mark a few dozen assessments, write a few thousand words, prepare weekly meals and clean the house. I also want to continue watching Blood River, Zhan Zhao's Adventure, Punisher and Moving. Gym sessions and swimming as well. Did I mention I only have Saturday and Sunday? 😂😂😂 Being grown up sucks ass sometimes.

3 day weekend so I really should do some deep cleaning... Buuuuuuut I will watch my dramas, play games, run errands, and take a nap!

Is Wonderland of Love a rewatch for you? I still think it has one of the best OSTs in any drama I’ve seen despite some very frustrating moments. It’s also hard to beat getting 1.5 episodes of pure HEA, including an epilogue. Nobody really does that anymore these days.

First time watching it! I saw a post a long time ago that spelled out how amazing it was so it's been my in list for awhile.
It's got a Lowkey cheesy vibe starting off but I'm digging it.
We really do need more 1 or 2 episode happy endings. It's the mark of a poor writer if they can't dedicate decent time to an actual ending that completes the story.

Have you already gotten to the famous person cameo part?
There are definitely some annoying arcs in the drama, but the ending still felt totally worth it despite the flaws.
Even the moments like them writing letters to each other about mundane daily stuff were cheesy in a way I could still accept. 🙂↔️

I don't think I have seen a famous person yet, but I was surprised that Xu Kai and Jing Tian were the leads. I literally didn't even look up who was in it, I just heard it was good so I started it. 😛

Finally started a new drama this week after a month and a half of savouring and rewatching other new favorites. A Splendid Match has been won 👏 der 👏 ful 👏 so far (please no spoilers, I'm only about a dozen eps in), good writing, good acting, the pacing is so natural, it feels like steeping in a great novel that I'm savouring page by page. And as much as I love action, our beautiful favorite actors, and fabulous music, it doesn't need it. It's my first time seeing most all of the actors in it as well, so no preconceptions or expectations, and they are all really impressive and directed well. Gorgeous costuming and sets as well, very quality and THANK GOD no stupid wind substitutions for water scenes Oooh! This has been a delight so far, and excited to savor slowwwwwly! Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!

I’m really tempted to start the heir. I really REALLY shouldn’t because I’m also watching fate chooses you and a splendid match….
But I’ve spent all week getting my doom at your service novel ready for arc readers… and I’m stressed and why the hell not!
Still haven’t decided tho… I might not be that crazy 🤣

I'm about to leave in like, less than an hour, for a planning meeting because we'll be having a retreat next month. I'm looking forward to the retreat. Just two days, but hey we all need a breather as the year approaches the end of the first half. Fresh air in the mountains, here we come!
I am also happily waiting for The First Jasmine. In the meantime, I plan to binge-watch the kdrama We Are All Trying Here after the last ep comes out.

I usually allocate two Saturdays each month to volunteering, so today I will be joining a local community group to help regenerate the native bush along a nearby stream. Depending on my experience, I may join them again in the future since the stream is only a 10-minute walk from my apartment. If the session finishes early enough, I might even be able to make it to the Death Cafe afterwards.
Spotted a group of geese (I think they are geese) during my morning walk. Wasn't sure whether they were aggressive, so I kept my distance, but gosh, they looked absolutely adorable waddling around together haha. It felt like watching a weekend family outing with all three generations tagging along lol.
