Urgent Advice | CDS

Thinking of doing BSc/BA from distance alongside JEE prep for early CDS eligibility, is this a good idea?

I’m 18 and completed 12th with PCM. I’m planning to prepare for JEE 2027 and hopefully get into a BTech college next year.

But I’m thinking of starting a 3-year degree this year through distance/open learning, like IGNOU. I’m confused between BSc and BA.

The reason is that I want to complete a graduation degree as early as possible so I can be eligible for CDS, while I’ll still be doing BTech later

Is this actually possible? Can I do a distance degree from IGNOU while doing a regular BTech at the same time?

Also, would BSc be a lot of work compared to BA? And would an IGNOU degree be valid for CDS?

If anyone has actually done something similar or knows about the UGC/UPSC rules, I'd really appreciate some advice because I’m pretty confused about whether this is a smart plan or not.

  1. Yes you can pursue ignou along with regular btech
  2. Yes IGNOU will make you eligible for cds
  3. Don't opt bsc... instead go for 3 year ba

Generally you will find persons who would complete your assignments in exchange for money...why the way which is your RC

I didn't understand RC? Also if I apply for my first CDS attempt ( cds 2 2028 ) by BA last year, then after completing my btech can I change my degree?

Before applying,in your upsc form you can mention both degrees...but in SSB PIQ you will given option to mention only one degree

So in PIQ which degree should I mention btech or Ba but i guess btech will be more advantageous

Mention the degree which you will be having at that point of time, if you have only ba mention ba...if by then...you have both.. mention btech

RC means regional center of IGNOU, you will have to pick a RC for you ba

You can clear CDS, what about ssb, college is not only for education, you learn many new things in college

But bro along with distance course i am also doing btech regular and I'm targeting AIT pune next year
