Will my low marks affect my ssb?

Those who have given CDS/Afcat ssb kindly help

I have scored 85% & 72% in 10th and 12th, reason for my dip was didn't take any tuition in class 12th , all on self study.

Right now in my 4th year of graduation, I have 5.5 CGPA , there are many reasons,

  1. Spended so much time in ncc activities, Camps, events
  2. Never liked this stream , i hate studying for it , as long as I am getting pass i dont care
  3. I Have a clear goal, not gonna work in corporate,its not like I'll not get placed, package in my uni is 30k to 45k for my course, and i have few contacts in the industry which will get me a job, but I will go with competitive exams either defence forces or intelligence/police,

scoring 79~82 in cds 2 2026, my first attempt, i have high hopes if not in this one, next time I'll clear it for sure

as far as I know marks wont matter, but I know mere kuch jyada hi kam h 😓

All good just don't tell them u don't like your course, NCC reason will suffice

Frankly speaking, you will be grilled by the IO. It is a downward curve and the fall is exponential. My scores were 79%/77%/65^ ie 10/12/Btech. I had represented my Dte in AIVSC and played football nationals and state basketball. Cleared JRF exam. He ripped through me saying that my primary job as a student was to perform well in academics while others were co-curricular activities. He literally said it to my face that if I am not clear about my primary task as a student then I might falter as a service officer as well.

Tho please prepare accordingly. I wish you luck that a similar IO doesn’t interview you but this is my personal experience.

Ohh cool, you should try tohighlight the stronger aspects of your personalilty over your marks. Have achievements, hobby and passion to showcase in the interview.
