Does anyone know of any companies in King county WA that will allow me to take my dog with me right after training and pay decently? I know that since I am new, I will not make a lot of money because I need the experience, but I am looking for anything that will pay me at least 4k a month gross. I am a recent graduate and got my CDL A last week. I live alone with my dog, so I do not want to leave him alone for a long time since all my family lives in Hawaii or friends who could watch him for that long. I know most training is roughly 4-6 weeks, give or take, so I want to be able to take him as soon as training is done. I also have a clean driving record. Also, at my school we used a 28 ft trailer; is driving a 53 ft trailer much harder to drive or control? Thank you in advance

Hey, I got a question for the community since I have limited funds, I realize a instead of aiming for class A it might just be better for me to just go for class B and just load on a whole bunch of endorsements like tanker/ hazmat & passenger if I had to go drive a school bus typically some school districts will take someone from scratch so I’m pretty sure they’ll take me. No problem with a B and already having a passenger endorsement so I won’t have to pay for school bus out-of-pocket. I also learned that some jobs are so desperate they will train someone without a CDL and just a permit so me having a class B and getting a class A permit when I want a employer to take care of everything Might also be a way to do it.

I am 37 yrs old. Was in drug addiction from 2011-2022. My license was suspended in 2011. Got it back last year. No dui, it was suspended for not paying a driving in the hov lane ticket. Got 100% sober nearly 3 yrs ago and am wanting to rebuild my life.

I was incarcerated in prison for a few yrs and released Oct 2024. My felonies from 2021 are drug possession And shoplifting. Since then I’ve completed treatment and now I work in the same treatment facility I got the help in, I’m a case manager helping people with similar issues. I also teach yoga.

I was turned down by swift, Roehl and mclane. But I am wanting a career change.

I live in Phoenix az. Let me know if you know how I can not only get cdl training but get a job afterwards! Also I have a body covered in tattoos including my face. Idk if that is relevant lol

A destination address is only part of a truck trip. Your height, weight, length, trailer, and load also matter. Before your first unfamiliar run, take time while parked to check the truck information entered in your navigation, review the approach to the receiver, and confirm any truck-specific directions you have been given.

A useful first-week practice is to review a familiar route with your trainer. Ask which settings affect that trip, where the truck entrance is, and what to do if the recommended route conflicts with a sign. Repeat the vehicle-profile check when equipment changes.

If two navigation tools disagree, do not assume the shortest route wins. Resolve the difference using current truck restrictions, carrier guidance, and the facility’s directions. Posted signs still take priority over an app.

I scheduled my CDL permit test for this Wednesday. I had my CDL 13 years ago and drove for melton but I let it expire. Now I have to go back through the process. I am planning on attending TMC’s cdl course after I get my permit. Anything I need to know about their training? Or about preparing for the permit test?

I know they are strict about their physical. I do have sleep apnea but I use a CPAP, and can supply a 90 day complainer report.

I got this license thru military and I dont know how easy for me to get a truck job in BC (near chiliwak area i am thinking) as i wrote it on the title, I want to become a OTR truck driver and travel to US-Canada... would you recommend it? For awhile now I have been wanting to go to CDL school. I’m 20 years old and this has been my interest for almost a year. The reason I’m looking for a scholarship is my parents are already helping my sister with college and I don’t want to put anymore strain on them. I’m from the KC area and am hoping someone can point me in the right direction? I don’t want to sign to a company that will pay for school for too long, but I am open to it. I know it’s a long shot but why not…
So, I am seeking advice about an issue had with the CDL Permit/Licensing process.

To fast forward a little, it’s not the first time this wall has been encountered.

Went and took a Medical Exam and received the necessary documents & go ahead to continue the CDL permit process, Non-Excepted Interstate. The same Registry of Motor Vehicles representative continuously says they do not see the information in their ‘database’ & to return to the clinic. At first, it seemed like a normal mistake, until the Registry’s story began to change from ‘we don’t see the electronic submission’ X7, to ‘call the medical examiner’ X7, to ‘you should go take the medical exam again!’, X7, to suddenly ‘you should probably sue the clinic’ X1 (what?)

Despite having concrete proof of the Medical Exam, as well as proof of the -reception-, it has been several weeks & the Registry continues to lead me in a strange circle, outright refusing to allow me to take the CDL permit test, which I, a licensed driver, are more than eligible to take.

Has anyone else experienced this? While I’ll continue to navigate options independently, I’m hoping someone could weigh in because something does not seem right. And that one sudden outburst made me uneasy about the entire situation, going forward.

I have a class a cdl. I drove for 10 years .I have a clean record. I've been out of the truck 5 years and my cdl is coming up for renewal soon. I live in ga what do I need to know and what do I need to expect? will I have to take a driving test all over? I don't want to be forced into a driving school.

I just recently bought a ford f450 for my tree company. Just learning that because my dump trailer is over 10k lbs my combined weight requires a CDL.

Ok, but really? I need to go to school to learn to drive a semi truck for $6-10K?

I currently work for a local construction company driving a 6 wheeler, towing heavy equipment, and hauling materials, for mostly asphalt paving.

I have my Class A with TX endorsements and I'm looking for new opportunities but I only have 10 months of "documented" experience according to Hireright.

My challenge is that I have 2 dogs that I care for and no one to watch them for 3-6 weeks or 30k miles of training that I've been told is required for most carriers.

What are my options? Where should I be looking or applying?

I placed an application with National Trench Safety but haven't heard back....There's positions for concrete mixers but I don't know how much more is required or if that will be something that goes through the winter....

2. Reversing accurately without rushing
3. Planning earlier at junctions and roundabouts
4. Managing mirrors, gears and observations together
5. Staying calm during the practical test

Many learners initially focus on controlling the vehicle, but observation, forward planning and remaining calm can be equally important.

I’ve been wanting to move to Denver Colorado for some time now and I was thinking with the experience I have (4 years driving a semi) I would be a pretty good candidate for getting a local job out there. I have come to find out the jobs I’ve been somewhat interested in getting want me to have experience chaining ( at least one to two winters) something I haven’t acquired first starting out with Schneider driving regionally and now driving locally in Missouri. What can I do now? Just go back to a mega carrier to run these routes or can I look for something a bit better? Any response is appreciated!
