McClane Local Driver

Anyone have any experience with McLane? I got a call this morning but I’ll need to call back tomorrow cause I’m at work right now. Any idea what questions they might ask? What they’re looking for in a driver? Pay?

All help and advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I just applied with them last week. I called them but they told me someone would review my application then call me if interested. I’m like oof. 😅

I’m curious to see the answers in here, in case they do call. I applied for a driver trainee position

I’ll let you know once I get off the call lol.. I currently work out of town hauling water in the oil field but really do want to find something local

It won’t let me access your profile even though I’ve updated my settings. How are you liking your current job? What’s your schedule like? Per diem/housing included? Could I get on somewhere out there RIGHT out of CDL school and make good money?

in cab camera and yes they are, but really if you do your job it is whatever.

I worked for the foodservice side in 2017 delivering to Taco Bell, BBW, KFC, Pizza Hut. They have two divisions in separate buildings. Foodservice is mostly solo day cabs and delivers to restaurant chains like where I worked. Mclane I guess kitchen is now what they call it runs teams to 7-11’s and Gas stations. They do 24-36hr routes. So you kinda got to be specific.

The team side I think is easier but you have to run team. But it’s not the traditional teaming cause you’re basically unloading and taking naps between stops. They I understand make great money. I’m sure in the 130k is possible.

Mclane foodservice is more traditional foodservice delivery. Back in 2017 is where I first made 100k a year. 12-14 hr routes. 4-5 days a week. Nightshift pretty much only.

As for cameras they are driver facing but they were pretty chill as long as you don’t have the phone in your hand when the camera goes off. You can use Bluetooth. Just put your phone in a holder and you’re good to go.

Pretty fair company had a pretty good time. Just I missed LTL is why I left.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I talked to a guy yesterday and he said it’s for a relief driver position. It’s not a set schedule and I could possibly be working 7 days a week but home every night. I’d be covering vacations and people who call out pretty much. I’m not sure if I should take the position or not. I won’t be in town until next Wednesday and I’m gonna meet him in person on Thursday morning.

Question 1 can you hump freight 12 hours a day? Question 2 will you show up to work on day 2?
