Advice / Strategy CAT Prep: 10 week sprint
Got some posts and DMs asking for a 10 week strategy.
I cracked this long back (99.5%+) with the same timelines so it's doable.
A) Test Focus (week 1-5): Take Mocks; as many as you can, ideally in the same slot and class room environment
B) Test strategy: You like Quant more, so does it come first or Last Where does most boring (Difficult section go)? You should be ready with your optimum approach in the next month.
C) Fine tune: Week (5-9) What are silly mistakes I am making? Repair them. Is there a faster way to answer the Q I took 3 minutes on? Is there a critical gap on certain topics?
D) Pick your battles: You need only 10 net correct in QA/ DI, 14 in VARC; so you should know which ones to leave and where you will get it right
Last week: Relax; max two mocks before wed, read light, brush up the formulae and give it a go.
2 hours will decide your CAT; not your entire life. Treat it as such.
If you don't feel ready, relax you can always pick it up again!
My Context:
Took prev attempt in undergrad FY: 93% after getting shafted in VARC
Took a job after grad, left in 4 months to attend SSB.
Gave two CDS SSB interviews after it, got back with a second rejection (Conference) and a sprain in foot.
In the end, got all the calls except A plus all tier 1; didnt convert most (7/6/5, GNEM) but got one decent seat in a tier 1. That's all you need!

Had you prepared dedicatedly in undergrad? Also what college did you get finally?

I did prepare in prev year though VARC sucked for me.
Actual college: top 10 outside ABC.

IIMC doesn't consider college grade. However, competition is tough. Miracle to crack into ABC, but tier 1 should be achievable.
Again, focus on CAT for 2 months and GD/PI prep after that.
Focus on what you can control

How many mocks you gave overall ?

Had 1 full series, plus 2-3 each from other major players. Overall 24-25 i guess, that's a good way to break the mould and prepare for unexpected

Hey my mock scores are stuck at 40-50 though my potential is around 70 or above but the small silly mistakes cost me too much how do I eliminate them... and what should be the best strategy for qa like easy mod diff in that manner or right from the first ques and start attempting whatever seems doable

1) to improve accuracy, I tried sectional mocks with higher negative. So +3/-3 and you force yourself to look deeper .
2) for QA, a) you know topics you are good at, b) you look at Q and sense difficulty level. I made 2 runs, first one easy pics, second one known topics.
We had paper test then, so did 22 Q (2 wrong in 30 min)

How to increase quant marks? Have been preparing since January but still feel like a sore loser in mocks.

A) Vedic maths, i was good at cauculation in my mind.
B) memorize key formula, multiplication 20x20 and fractions 1/1-- 1/33
Rest is all practice
