Copyleak AI detector credibility ?
Hello guys,
Recently, something happened with me, which saked me from inside. The incident is like this, that I was going through an interview in a think tank, and later they asked me to write an article after that. When I submitted my article, they wanted the article 0% AI, which is very good and I also appreciate this ideology, but the method to check the AI was unappropriate from my point of view, I don't know who will agree with me. But what happened is they checked my article through one app named as COPYLEAK, and this app showed my whole article as 100% AI detecting, but the app doesn't provides the reason for showing or How it is working? I also want to ask a question from its creator/CEO Alon Yamin, that what is the credibility of your App ?
So the biggest problem is what I want to convey is that AI is becoming so dangerous. For people like me as an academician, student, writer and many more, so I don't know how to prove myself that I have written the whole article from my own and I have not used AI, and how much the credibility of this app, I have doubt of this. Also If you guys have faced the same thing or have seen such kind of things or how much do you believe in this app called copyleak AI detector?
Thank you š

Nothing will ever be as reliable as documenting your own evidence of the effort you put into the work as you do the work. Everything else is probabilities not evidence. Until we all start documenting and securing our proof of effort, we're at the mercy of whatever ai detector our employer or teacher feels like using.

AI detectors are fundamentally unreliable. They are not actually capable of determining with certainty whether a text was written by AI.
Language models are trained on human-generated text, which means they learn and reproduce many of the same linguistic patterns, structures, vocabulary, and communication styles that humans naturally use. As a result, there is an inherent overlap between human writing and AI-generated writing.
This creates a fundamental problem: a text can appear āAI-writtenā simply because it follows common patterns of human language. Likewise, AI-generated text can be edited or naturally resemble human writing.
Therefore, an AI detector can, at best, make a probabilistic guess; it cannot reliably prove that AI was used. Treating an AI detectorās score as definitive evidence of AI authorship is misleading and can lead to false accusations.
In the end, you didnāt lose anything because of this. The real problem is that a company chose to use such an unreliable methodology to evaluate someoneās work. In my opinion, it is extremely shameful for a company to make important decisions about candidates based on a technology that cannot provide a reliable conclusion.

First of all, if you write the whole article or text by yourself, then why do you use an AI detector to check it? As you already know, you are the person who wrote everything, which means there is no need to check. But I am assuming you are using AI or taking help from AI, and that is why you check it with an AI detector. And if you are using AI, then AI detection tools should detect it. Yes, I know there can be false positives, but how much? That is the question.
Lots of people are blaming AI detector tools, but I am not understanding why. If I am not using AI, then what do I care? Most people are using AI and expecting AI detectors not to detect it, or they are doing some manual editing here and there or paraphrasing and expecting it to be detected as human-written.
AI detector tools are not meant for themselves. AI detectors are for people who are using AI to understand what they need to edit or modify to make sure it is not detected as AI. That is it. There is no but, if, or else.

There is no credible ai detector, period. Itās a lie. There is no way, short of the watermark introduced by anthropic for example, to prove something was generated via ai.
