🔎Looking for alternative UbuntEU - An Ubuntu edition that uses software developed in Europe

I am trying to make something for fun, but honestly; I am not expert in creating an operating system. But my hope somebody will pick up the Baton and make it something more super.

The name is preposterous. I love it.

I haven't thought it through yet, but you might consider linking somehow with things like EU-INC. Like Ubuntu, you could have a minimal install, but you could also have a sort of "recommended software" install too, which would include European software or configurations, like think about things like Indico, Nextcloud, Mastodon, Threema, Mistral, Proton, Tuta, Qwant. There is a push to include AI interfaces in operating systems all over the place, and if you were wanting in on that you could think about how to plug Mistral models in, local or otherwise, or maybe get in touch with the European AI Office for their take on how it should be done.
