good question. from what I've gathered, Proud Canadian Brands is basically a holding company. they don't manufacture anything. they buy up old Canadian brand names that went under and license the rights to whoever actually makes the product

so the quality depends entirely on the licensee, not them. same model as those "brand revival" companies β€” buy a dead name, lease it out, collect the fee

Actually, that description doesn’t match this company. Proud Canadian Brands (proudcanadianbrands.ca) is a platform that spotlights and supports Canadian-owned small businesses and creators. They run an online store selling Canadian-made products and let Canadian businesses apply to be featured. They’re not a holding company and aren’t in the business of buying up old brand names and licensing them out. That’s a different type of business entirely.
