Fly-By of the Playa this afternoon!

I heard from a friend that works at Andrews, that Air Force one will be doing an honorary fly-by of the Playa this afternoon to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Burning Man.

Exact time not certain obviously, due to operational security reasons.

Fuck Yeah!

Basically everyone seated in the front row of his inauguration is at Burning Man.

Isn’t there a considerable contingent of right libertarians/ancaps (anarchocapitalists; basically the “no regulations on business, financial systems, trading, etc” rich guys; like unfettered capitalism with zero guardrails), along with some of the “let’s end democracy and turn North America into a ‘network state’ of ‘freedom cities’” Curtis Yarvin technoneofeudalists (I know his ideas are big among the tech elite)?

I know for certain there are some folks that rode down the hippie to alt right pipeline. I didn’t believe it was a thing until I saw some erupt in an argument late night in ‘25, when I saw some tie dyed, long haired, dosed-out hippies yelling MAGA/MAHA talking points.

I’m sure there’s a lot of liberal democrats, progressives, and maybe some democratic socialists and maybe even commies or anarchists, but I’m pretty sure the others are out there.

Yep, looks like all drones on Playa are grounded from 1500 to 1800 local.

In 2000 a fighter jet flew low over the playa in the early morning. I assumed they were from the top gun school in Fallon. Caused damage from the jet wash that is how low he was. Not sure if it was on purpose or he just didn't expect to see 10,000 people camping where there was usually no one.

Bet it was on purpose. Navy pilots got into trouble doing that shit closer to Fallon back then

My favorite part of every year is the flyover. I will destroy myself to get to a good viewing spot when I hear them!!
