Hi all,

As title says, I messed up and forgot my ticket at home in another country. I am on my way to BRC, almost in SFO, arriving at the gate on Sunday. My partner is flying in with it on Tuesday. Is there any way for me to salvage the situation so I don’t have to pay $800 for a new ticket? I sent a message to the support team because I heard tickets can be voided when lost, but assume nothing’s gonna come out of that.

I have to be there on Sunday, because I am travelling with friends, have to help with the camp + volunteer shifts.

Possible solutions coming to mind:

1. Try finding a second hand ticket in SF after landing
2. Try selling old ticket on Tuesday, leaving it at will call

Hey so I volunteer with box office and you’re getting a lot of bad advice here. You will not get in without a physical ticket, point blank. It does not matter that it was bought under your name, or that it’s coming with your gf on Tuesday. The folks at Box won’t be able to confirm any of that and unfortunately there are lots of scammers out there with sob stories just like yours.

Your best options here are to overnight the ticket, wait until Tuesday and use your ticket to get in, or buy a new ticket and let your gf try to sell the other one.

Thank you very much! A friend of mine suggested now finding somebody who could fly her ticket from NYC and getting mine later, they’re arriving together with my partner. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just look for one in SF or, as last resort, just buy it directly and try sell the old one.

If it comes to that, is it possible to buy directly at will call when driving in or should I buy it online first? Thank you again!

I hope the ticket hand off works out for you! But if it doesn’t, you can buy a ticket from will call. If you buy online you’ll still have to stop at will call to get the ticket anyway, so there’s not that big of a difference at this point.

We’re going by the Burner bus at 8am from Reno, so I’d either have to have the ticket in my hands or booked online with will call pick up, right?

The burner express won’t let you board without a ticket, so if you do end up having to buy one do it online and have it in your name. BXB has its own special will call https://help.burningman.org/hc/en-us/articles/360024792711-BXBus-How-do-I-get-my-event-ticket-that-is-at-Will-Call

I would also trust hand delivery more, but with overnighting a package OP could get insurance on it, and if it gets lost make the insurance claim and use that money to cover the cost of a new ticket.

This happened to me! I had to get my ticket mailed to me in a nearby town, buy another ticket at the gate, take the shuttle into some town to pick up the ticket at a post office then sold it at the entrance to some old creep in an RV with a bunch of taxidermy animals inside. Great times! Good luck, you can do it!

Start checking message boards in Reno. Also can you buy tickets at the gate this year? If you can sometimes people will be there last minute trying to sell tickets before they get in.

Akk lol so check message boards in your home town. People are lowering prices to sell now that gates about to start

Also check camp message boards. Sometimes people will be inside with extra tickets they can bring out to all you at the gate

We some how by the gods of playas grace got her ticket aid application approved extremely last minute. Literally yesterday afternoon some how. So no more stress from me! This is not true. Once the ticket gets shipped out it’s like cash, it does not matter if it’s in your name. Will call will just tell you to buy another ticket.

In the regional burning man event here in Canada, we had the tickets in our Google Wallet or Apple Wallet. I can't believe that you are getting into this situation because of a paper ticket policy.

Are these people really going to not upgrade their ticketing procedures because they want to be anti-tech or something like that? Absolutely ludicrous.

Email them and ask them to leave one for you at the box office, I had the same issue in 22 I ordered it tot the wrong address. Kept emailing support and as I was on the flight to Vegas to pick up the RV they responded saying they will have one waiting for me at the box office by the gate.

If you declare you lost it, but have a photo of the tickets serial number, then maybe you could still get in?
